Color and Shine!

Presenting sequins and more sequins!

I have had this (small) stash of sequins from…I dunno when. And I have been wondering how use them up! Now, if they were of a small size, I would have used them on any other card – but these are NOT small! And the shapes are pretty different from the norm. And so, got me wondering what I am going to do with them.

I have already made a card with some of my sequins (my first post – here) But I wanted to make something different this time, using another set of my sequins.

And here it is-

2014-06-07(a)

I left the imperfect stamping of the chevron pattern as it is – I liked it that way!

The sentiment is done with glitter powder. And since it was showing up much against the white paper, I tried adding a partial outline to the letters.

My initial idea was to have a raised frame and a raised middle piece for the sentiment, with sequins in the window in between. I started with some other sequins, but finally ended up with the ones here.  Since I started with the sequins, I didn’t have any idea on what to do with the frame and middle pieces! 😦 Simple white was not at all suiting the multi-colored shiny sequins! I was stuck!! 😦

And then the bulb switched on – what better goes with multiple colors than simple black and white! This got my chevron stamp out. And finally it looked like the card was going to come to place. 🙂

This card is making me feel that I can endeavour making cards with glitter and sequins! 🙂

I am submitting this to two challenges – CASology Cue Card 98 – Shine and Neat and Tangled Challenge #38

Thanks for looking!

  1. Wow! Now that’s shine! Love the rainbow of sequins and you’re right – they look great against the black and white! So glad you joined us at CASology this week!
