A fresh start on My Art Book

I’ve been meaning to record my ideas somewhere – not by just turning them into cards. I wished to make mini layouts – kind of like scrapbooking, but without the photos. I wanted to be able to record my ideas without having the pressure of bringing it to a ‘finish’. Just trying to bring out something else I could enjoy!

And that’s how I thought of starting with an art journal. Somewhere to try out ideas I have, to try out techniques I learn from other superb people out there, just something to work on when I don’t really want to make a card out of it.

And this is my first entry – 13 July 2014.

I have been really interested in honing my watercoloring skills lately (yeah, honing, as if I am better than any novice! ;P )I have tried out the technique taught by Sanketi here.

Although its still a far way away from what Sanketi did (should I even compare?!), it definitely is a significant small step for me. 🙂 And I am pretty happy with the (somewhat shabby) outcome. I do realize though, that the leaves have not come out properly – and that’s because I was too focused on the flowers, and didn’t really observe how Sanketi had made them. 😦 I’ll definitely o better next time! 🙂

Thanks for looking!
