Tic-Tac-Toe!!

Made this card for the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge 134 – Tic Tac Toe! Its an exciting challenge this time, and this is my submission card (hopefully one of a few more.. :))

This card is inspired by this card I saw on Pinterest.

I had initially planned to make this a Black-White-Grey card, but this is actually making three lines on the board – Black-White-Grey, Dots-Grey-Twine, Chevrons-White-Twine!!! Surprised myself! 😀

I made the background directly on the card base using Tim Holtz’s Stripes stencil – I added the ink on the stencil and laid the paper directly on it, inked it again, turned the stencil around and laid the paper on it again. The fact that the ink didn’t exactly stick to stencil resulted in the dotty background.

After this, I added a soft layer of Pumice Stone distress ink around the center.

For the tag, I embossed the sentiment to the bottom half of a black piece of card stock, adhered it to a white card stock, fuzzy-cut a butterfly out of a chevron pattern paper and stuck it on top. I finally adhered the whole thing on top of the card base using foam tape.

I thought of adding a little something on top of the butterfly, but decided against it because of two reasons – One, I wanted it to have that scruffy look of the background and Two, I wanted it to be a ‘Simple’ card. 😀

I hope you liked the card as much as I did! Thanks for looking! 🙂
