Hello!
I have been a fan of watercoloring for some time now, and it’s only fair that I use it in cards too! Although its a late start, I have started making water color cards. And I am getting a little happier each time I complete a watercolored card. ๐ And here is my latest attempt –
I first stamped the flowers and leaves from the Avery Elle ‘Petals & Stems’ stamp set in a very light ink on a watercolor paper panel. I then picked up the distress inks -Rusty Hinge, Wild Honey, Peeled Paint and Tumbled glass and watercolored the stamped images.
I waited until the piece was dry. I then stamped the flower centers in Versamark watermark ink, added some gold embossing powder on top and heat embossed it. I also added the sentiment from Penny Black ‘Dahlias’ stamp set in Staz On Black ink.
I then foam mounted this piece on the card base.
I am beginning to think that when making these watercolor cards, there is no need for any other embellishment at all! The watercolors themselves make such a big impact that nothing else is needed to adorn the card! ๐
I am submitting this piece to ColorQ Challenge #269,ย Runway Inspired Challenge #72ย and Little Tangles Challenge #49 – Giving Thanks
For the ColorQ Challenge, since I didn’t have the exact colors mentioned in the challenge, I have used substitute Distress ink colors (In particular, I have mixed the colors for Hello Honey – Wild Honey, and Tangerine Tango – Rusty Hinge for the flowers)
Thanks for looking! ๐
