Flip it stamping

Hello!

Receiving a new stamp set is such happiness! New ideas come popping into your head and you can’t wait to get started on them!

I am using Altenew’s Orikami stamp set here. As with some other stamps, even though this stamp set has been out there for quite some time now, I just got it recently – its difficult to get new released products in India, since there are very few stores selling them so soon here, and I don’t buy them from overseas. Well, better late than never I guess! 😀

I started with stamping the flipped side of the stamp in Memento inks Rich Cocoa, Bamboo Leaves and Rhubarb Stalk. I then stamped the right side with Versamark ink and heat embossed it in white. My initial idea was to have only the butterflies at the bottom of the card, with the sentiment stamped above it. But after getting the butterflies ready, somehow I felt that only this much wasn’t making any impact.

Changing gears, I trimmed the cardstock and cut out a piece with only butterflies on it. I then started stamping the butterfly in a random fashion on the leftover piece using Memento London Fog ink. I also stamped some more in the white space of the earlier trimmed piece to give an impression of continuation.

I then stamped and cut out the sentiment from the same stamp set from another piece of white cardstock – the ink is Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then trimmed the sides from the two stamped card panels and swiped London Fog ink pad at the sides. I then foam mounted these panels leaving a small gap in between. I then added the sentiment adhered with half glue and half foam dots, laying them at an angle. I then embellished the card with some star shaped wood veneer.

This finished my card! I am submitting this card to Color Me Card Challenge #51 and CAS(E) This Sketch #104.

Thanks for looking! 🙂
