ColorQ Challenge #272

The card this time is one inspired by this card by Yana Smakula. It was so difficult to get stamps together which would word with this technique – I must have gone though my stash some 5 times before I realized I only had three flowers in my whole stash which would work! Well, better than nothing! And I loved the card in the end, so that sets right everything! 😛

Here’s my interpretation of Yana’s card –

I first tried out how I wanted to do the stamping on my ‘trials book’ (yes, I keep a book for that!). What I found out was that its better to stamp the images as closely as possible. This bound the images together giving the card a wholesome look.

I started with stamping the images in Memento Tuxedo black ink. The inks I used were Memento Lady Bug, Cottage Ivy and Rich Cocoa and since I don;’t own a teal colored ink, I double stamped Hero Arts Soft Pool ink. The stamps I used came from various stamp sets – Floral Invitation, Joyful Flutters, Blooms Of Mine and Full Bloom, all from Micia, also Hannah Elements from Altenew and Bokeh Time from JustRite for the filled circle stamps. The sentiment – I dunno which stamp set it is! 😦

That’s it. I just loved the card so much, the thought of adding embellishments didn’t even cross my mind! One of the rare occasions where I made a one-layer card and loved it! 🙂

I am submitting this card to ColorQ Challenge #272.

Thanks for looking! 🙂

  1. So pretty – and definitely doesn’t need any further embellishment..I’m not sure if I’d have many stamps suitable for that technique either. Isn’t that the perfect excuse to buy more? Thanks for playing along at Colour Q!
