CASology #131

Since I missed submitting any card CASology last time, I thought of submitting something this time. The theme is very simple –

As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to use my Memory Script Birthday die, plus a technique so popular with word dies now (I think I see the technique in at least one card in every challenge I go to! :P)

CASology #131I first started stamping using a stamp from WPlus9 Country Charms stamp set in ColorBox Turquoise, Canary, Orchid and Eggplant colors. I then die cut the sentiment across it. I also die cut a few extra pieces, stacked them. Then laying some double sided adhesive behind it, and some scrap paper to support it, I adhered the sentiment down on the card.

For the ‘Happy’, which came from Hero Arts It’s Your Day stamp set, I first partially stamped in Eggplant and then in Teal to get that ombre look – I felt it matched the checkered colors below and better suited the card than just black.

For embellishing that card, I took nail polish (yes, nail polish is quickly becoming a good alternative for enamel dots for me! :)) and dripped a few dots here and there on the card.

And that finished my card! Thanks for looking!!

  1. Wonderful card. Love that camouflaged die cut (I think that is what Laura Bassen called it) and your ombre sentiment–beautiful use of techniques. Thanks so much for playing along at CASology this week.
