Runway Inspired Challenge #78

Hello! Back with another card!

This time, in RIC, the model’s dress is really fabulous! I was smitten by the stripes, and more so, by the color. But even so, I wanted to create a card without stripes being the main focus! (makes any sense??) But I was completely lost as soon as I had that thought.

Inspiration sometimes comes from the weirdest places – this time it was a couple of  card stock panel left over from die cutting! 😀

Runway Inspired Challenge #78I had a couple of card panels left over from an experiment, which I colored in Aged Mahogany, Salty Ocean DIs. I then adhered them to each other at an angle and after lying them on top of the card panel (didn’t adhere them yet) I marked the excess and trimmed them…and laid them aside.

Runway Inspired Challenge #78 (close up 1)I then colored a portion of the card base with Aged Mahogany using Tim Holtz Stripes stencil. And then I foam mounted the die cut panel on top. I then picked a flower I had left over from a previous project and colored it in the same Aged Mahogany, covering the underlying red.

Runway Inspired Challenge #78 (close up 2)I then cut out a couple of strips of card stock and stamped the sentiment from Big Bold You from Winnie & Walter using Memento Rich Cocoa ink and adhered it on the card, and then adhered the flower.

That finished my ‘complex’ card! 😛 This card is something totally new for me, since I’ve rarely made cards showing so much geometry till now. Mixed feelings about it 😛

I am submitting this card to RIC #78
