Trailing Vines

Hello! I am back with another post! And this time I am CASEing the genius, Aga’s card here. When I saw this card for the first time (and that was quite sHelloome time ago!) I wanted to make my own version of it, but somehow, I haven’t done that till now!

Hello

In fact, I so loved this card, that I had to make two cards!! 😀 Here’s card 1 of my version –

Trailing Vines #1I used the Garden Fronds stencil from Memory Box and inked in Black Soot distress ink, using all the three vines in the stencil, masking and joining ends whenever necessary. I then splattered a bit of black acrylic ink diagonally across the card panel. I then distressed the edges and adhered this on a black card base.

Trailing Vines #1 (close up)I stamped the sentiment from Sentiment Sampler from Paper Smooches on a black card stock using Hero Arts Unicorn White ink (I had to go over it again with my Uniball Signo white gel pen because it wasn’t white enough for me :() I then cut out a bigger piece of vellum and adhered it behind this piece and stuck a length of thin yellow-gold ribbon between this and the card panel.

And that finished card 1! 🙂

Trailing Vines #2For card two, which I made horizontal, I used various shades of distress inks, making gradients. I also made the vines a little random, than making them parallel.

Coming to the sentiment, I used the same as the card before, this time stamping it in Hero Arts Field Greens ink. I die cut the vellum using a die from Hello/Thank You from Sizzix dies. Finally I added rhinestones of a couple of shades as embellishment. 🙂

Trailing Vines #2 (close up)So, how do you think they came out? 🙂

I am submitting the first card to Less Is More Challenge #218: Predominantly Black and the second one to CAS Colors & Sketches #118: Monochromatic Shades Of Green, CASology Week #140: Spring and Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Beginnings.
