A few posts today (yeah, more than normal..). The first of the series stars my cards from the stash – stuff I’ve made for other projects, stored away and not used. I made two cards yesterday –
The background is made from adding watercolor to a bubble sheet. If I remember correctly, this is the second print; here’s the card I made with the first print, which is also, by the way, the first card I made for this series! 😀
The retro camera is also something I made as part of an experiment. I was inspired by this card made by May Sukyong Park for Altenew. Now you know why I didn’t use it at the time! But I still thought it was not so bad, and didn’t wanna throw it. So, its finally seeing the light of the day in this card!
Coincidentally, the colors of the bubble behind each camera matches its background! I was pleasantly delighted when I discovered this! 🙂
And coming to the supplies:
The little starts are die cut from Confetti from Mama Elephant, then covered in Glossy Accents
The camera is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black using the stamp from Captured from Bo Bunny. I also added Glossy Accents to the lens ares 😉
The colors I’ve used on the top panel are Shaded Lilac, Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Festive Berries distress inks.
The sentiment stickers from Itsy Bitsy.
And now the second card – I had first adhered everything on a white card base, but couldn’t bring myself to use it, and couldn’t think of any improvements either. Last night, the bulb lit, and I cut the card stock where the strips where adhered and used a brown card base instead. By the way, the card base itself was another experiment – I tried getting it by swiping some ink directly from the ink pad, hoping to get a nice uniform color, but was unable to…. so off it went to the stash! 🙂 Happy that the elements finally look good together
I used Tweed Pattern from Hero Arts and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder.
Next I cut the piece into strips based on the pattern and colored them using Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn, Pine Needles, Pumice Stone, Peacock Feathers and Seedless Preserves distress inks.
I then stamped the sentiment from Floral Expressions from Inkadinkado in Memento Summer Sky and then traced it using my Uniball Signo white gel pen.
I finally added some white Enamel Accents for embellishment.
So, how do you like my cards from the stash? 🙂
