Runway Inspired Challenge #90

It seems now-a-days that I am making last minute entries, to some of my favorite challenges – it was CAS(E) This Sketch the other day, and now its RIC! I guess I should just be glad that I at least had some last minute inspiration to even submit something! 😛

Runway Inspired Challenge #80To make this card, I first applied Squeezed Lemonade distress ink on a card panel, forming a frame of sorts and then used Mini Flower Frenzy stencil by Crafter’s Workshop and applied Scattered Straw distress ink. This kind of signifies the upper portion of the beautiful dress – the yellow flowers. I then made a bouquet base of sorts using a piece of doily (used this instead of the lacy yellow flowers), adhered it, and then made the flowers using many die cut pieces of Memory Box Honey Blossom Sprig. I then used Pine Needles, Shabby Shutters, Ripe Persimmon, Tattered Rose distress inks and Memento Danube Blue to color them. I applied the ink directly from the ink pads, to achieve a partially colored look. I picked the colors from the flowers on the white base of the model’s dress. I adhered everything to place and stamped the sentiment from The Craft’s Meow in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. That finished my card! 🙂

Some New And Some Old…

… stuff from my stash – that’s what is used in these cards –

The first card uses the latest in my collection – Reverse Confetti Leaping Lions (stamp & die).

Roar!!I colored some scrap strips using Color Box Teal and Color Box Violet inks and die cut them using MFT Chevron Stripes, adhering them on the card base to form the background. I stamped and die cut the lion & the stand and colored the lion using my sketch pens. After stamping the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I also added a few stars behind the lion using Memento Dandelion and Versamark Orange ink and cut one end of the panel using WPLus9 Scalloped Border die, and adhered all the pieces together. I also die cut the buttons using Impression Obsession Buttons, colored them using my sketch pens. I added these along with some black string tied around the card.

I am submitting this card to Retro Sketches challenge  #178 and Colour Q challenge #305

For my second card, I used one of the oldest items in my stash – Itsy Bitsy Leaf Thincuts. This is one of the first supplies I bought! 🙂

Autumn WishesI first made the background using kraft cardstock and pattern paper from K & Company. I then die cut a couple of leaves from brown texture paper using the Itsy Bitsy Leaf Thincuts. I then distressed it using Prima Comfort Craft Distressing tool. After adhering the whole thing, I stamped the sentiment using Fiskars Basic Font and Memento Tuxedo Black ink

Critter Love and More

PE: ColourQ Courtier

Hello! It seems that I’ve been posting during weekends only these last few times.. 🙂 And I’ve got four cards this time!
Critter LoveI had made this first card for the previous CAS(E) This Sketch challenge but I was late in submitting this card, so I am just posting it here. Made this with Penny Black Every Which Way stamps, which I stamped using Memento Rich Cocoa and colored it using Brushed Corduroy, Walnut Stain, Festive Berries, Broken China, Forest Moss, Bundled Sage distress inks. The sentiment comes from Hero Arts All Occasion Messages stamped in Forest Moss.

Pinterest Inspired Challenge #1I made my second card for a new challenge – Pinterest Inspired challenge #1. I first colored a watercolor panel loosely and then used a lot of dies for the leaves and the flowers on it. After arranging and adhering them on the card base, I colored another panel grey and used it along with a piece of black card stock on top, with the sentiment embossed in white.

Pinterest Inspired challenge #1For my third and fourth cards are birthday and balloons themed. I got inspired from this card from Kristina Werner and this card from Kay Miller and this card from Freshly Noted

Wishing BalloonThe critters are from Penny Black Every Which Way, the hearts are from the same stamp set, stamped multiple times. I used Picked Raspberry, Scattered Straw, Iced Spruce distress inks and finally added outlines very lightly using color pencils. The sentiment comes from Hero Arts Its Your Day. Submitting this card to Colour Me Challenge #85

Colour Me Challenge #85For this card, I used stencils and also hand drew the balloons. After outlining them using a black pen, I colored them using Ripe Persimmon, Peacock Feathers, Scattered Straw, Iced Spruce distress inks. The twinkles in the background are from Just Rite Bokeh Time stamp set stamped in Iced Spruce. I finally added Glossy Accents over the balloons.

And More Wishes

Hello! Today’s second installment of cards –

Sovushka Slavia: Card Sketch #31 (2)For this card, I first punched out a couple of leaves, and colored them using Festive Berries, Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade distress inks. I also cut out a square frame from Brustro Iridescent gold paper adhered on cardstock. I then heat embossed the leaves and the sentiment from Paper Smooches Paper Sampler in gold. Adhered the pieces along with some doily thereafter.  Simple process, big impact! 😀

I cut the bird and the branches using Memory Woodland Branch and Impression Obsession Birds from a texture paper from DCWV Textures & Finishes. Papa’s Birthday Card

Made this card for my Papa’s birthday –

Papa's Birthday (1)For the background, I stencilled on the kraft card base using Clear Scraps Damask stencil and Color Box Dune pigment ink. Since the ink was pretty dry, this made kind of a tone-on-tone effect (translates to don’t throw away your inks, even if they dry up! :P)

For the panel above, I used the stencil Itsy Bitsy Flourishes 5 and a few more inks – Brushed Corduroy, Evergreen Bough, Broken China, Salty Ocean. I then added White Enamel Accents on the flowers. The sentiment from Hero Arts It’s Your Day is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then foam mounted the panel on the kraft card base.

Papa's Birthday (2)After making the envelope using color paper, I used the same two stencils – I first used Antique Linen distress ink on Clear Scraps Damask stencil – its barely visible in the picture, but its there, again, giving a beautiful tone-on-tone look. I then stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts It’s Your Day using Memento Rich Cocoa. I then stencilled around it using Itsy Bitsy Flourishes 5 stencil and Wild Honey distress ink. I added a couple of dots on the flower center using Uniball Signo white gel pen.

Happy birthday to you, Papa! Hope you like the card! 🙂

Warm Wishes

My first card, where I tried CASEing this card from Ellen Hutson

Here are the ingredients –

Avery Elle Blossoms & Blooms stamped in Hero Arts Pale Tomato and Memento Cottage Ivy
Hero Arts All Occasion Messages

Sketching It Out

I’ve made a couple of cards, this time for two sketch based challenges.

My first card is for CAS(E) This Sketch #135

CAS(E) This Sketch #135I started with the bunny from Mama Elephant Honey Bunny. After stamping it in Antique Linen distress ink, I watercolored it using Inktense pencils. I then stamped the carrot and the party hat using Memento Tangelo, Pear Tart, Sweet Plum. For the sentiment, I cut the upper portion of the panel using WPlus9 Scalloped Border and stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then added the dashed lines using Copic Multiliner. For adhering the bunny, I used scraps I had from coloring other cards – they make a fantastic backdrop, don’t they! 😉

CAS(E) This Sketch 135Now, for my second card, for Retro Sketches Challenge #176

Retro Sketches Challenge #176I used pattern papers from Best of K & Company from K & Company for the background. I then stamped the Penny Black Dazzlers using Faber Castell green ink, Memento Bamboo Leaves, Memento Rich Cocoa, fuzzy cut them and adhered them on die cut a circle to create dimension. I then cut the lacy border using Joy Crafts Lacey Border, stamped the sentiment from a stamp set from The Craft’s Meow (forgot its name!) using Memento Rich Cocoa and adhered all the pieces together. I then added some pearls for embellishment.

Retro Sketches 176And that’s my two cards for the sketch challenges! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
