#328 – Autumn Coffee Lovers Blog Hop – Take Two

Quite pumped up – my second card for the Autumn Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

Coffee Blog Hop (2)For this card, I first stamped the coffee mug from Micia Tea Time in Antique Linen distress ink and colored them using dark and light combinations of distress inks – Spiced Marmalade, Rusty Hinge, Mermaid Lagoon, Chipped Sapphire, Ripe Persimmon, Aged Mahogany – and finally Brushed Corduroy for the coffee itself. I then fuzzy cut the mugs. For adorning the mugs I stamped little stars and dots using Purple Onion Designs Confetti in Hero Arts Unicorn pigment ink.

I then stamped a card panel using Purple Onion Designs Confetti in Memento Grey Flannel and watercolored them using Iced Spruce distress ink.  I then trimmed the edges a bit and adhered them on the card base. I then adhered the coffee mugs and the sentiment, which is from My Favorite Things Clearly Sentimental About Coffee stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

As an afterthought (which was when I was photographing the card! :P) I added two strips of silver glitter washi tape on the sides – makes the edges stand out a bit more, don’t you think? 🙂

#327 – Autumn Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

I’ve been wanting to participate in the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop since I came to know about it – but I didn’t have any stamps for that. I’ve acquired stamps relating to tea and coffee over the last year and so – my very first entry to this year’s Autumn Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!! 😀

Coffee Blog Hop (1)I combined stamps from My Favorite Things Some Bunny and Purple Onion Designs Cups of Joy and colored them using Inktense Pencils. After covering the card base with pattern paper from K & Company, I adhered the bunny & coffee panel that I die cut using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles and added some washi tapes to the side. I die cut the sentiment panel using Mama Elephant Sew Fancy and stamped the sentiment from My Favorite Things Clearly Sentimental About Coffee using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

#326 – Simply Stamping Leaves

Winner: Sovushka Slavia Card Sketch!!! 😀

Hello! My third post today – and this time I am using leaves as the main feature.

Make A WishThis card is really simple and quick to make! I first stamped the leaves from Ellen Hutson Bold Blooms in Memento Dandelion, Hero Arts Soft Pool, Hero Arts Tide Pool, Hero Arts Field Greens inks. I then stamped the sentiment from Paper Trey Ink Good Times in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. This didn’t stamp out so well so I ended up going over it again using my black pen – love the contrast! 😀

Make A Wish (close up)I then cut across the card using My Favorite Things Chevron Stripes and adhered all the different pieces on the card base at different heights (is it apparent in the second image?). I then trimmed the card a bit – so, its actually about quarter of an inch shorter than the normal card size at width-wise. Finally I added some square rhinestones as embellishment.

Submitting this one to quite a few challenges  😀 –

#325 – Black and Gold

Hello! Inspired by the color combination of black and gold in one of my own previous card, I tried out a couple of other projects!

Black & Gold (Happy Birthday)For this really really simple card, I first embossed the background using Spellbinders M-bossabilities Flower Fun embossing folder. I then die cut the doily from Brustro Iridescent gold metallic paper using Waffle Flower Doily Circle. The sentiments are from Paper Trey Ink Wet Paint die & stamp sets. I then added three clear sequins to embellish (can you see them?? :P).

For my second card, I first adhered some washi tape with little gold hearts in it on the card base. Then I die cut circles using We R Memory Keepers Nesting Circles on another card panel. I cut the sentiment using Paper Trey Ink Good Times from black card stock and orange foam sheet and adhered them all together. Also used quite a few sequins and rhinestones as embellishment.

Black & Gold (Celebrate)I love how the orange foam gives kind of a glow to the sentiment! 😀 Here’s a close up –

#324 – MFT Sketch Challenge

Hello! Its the first time I’m playing in MFT Sketch challenge – in fact a MFT challenge! So excited! 😀

MFT Sketch Challenge #247I’ve managed to combine various elements in this card- something I’m pretty weak at. I first made the plaid background by stamping with Hero Arts Unicorn pigment ink on black card stock using MFT Plaid Background Builder and die cut it using MFT Jumbo Fishtail. I then stamped the shoe from MFT You Gnome Me and the flowers from MFT Some Bunny Stamp sets and colored them using Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilzed Amber, Tie Dye, Rusty Hinge, Mowed Lawn, Pine Needles distress inks. I then fuzzy cut them.

I then die cut the pattern paper from K & Company using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. I then adhered all the pieces along with a bow from Paper Smooches Bows with a rhinestone for embellishing. I then die cut the sentiment from the same pattern paper using WPlus9 Hand Lettered Hello and adhered it on a strip of cardstock whose sides I cut out into fishtail.

Submitting this, as I said to MFT Sketch Challenge 247 and to Color Throwdown challenge 361 (I added the rusty colors to the shoe considering them to be neutral colors, wonder if that’s ok! :D) –

Blooms and Watercoloring

PE: Fusion Challenge Honorable Mention

Hello! Couple of cards this time, with ways to use watercoloring with flowers.

For my first card, I used watercoloring to the flower –

Magnolias For HerAfter stamping the flowers from Altenew Magnolias For Her in Dried Marigold distress ink, I used Dried Marigold and Abandoned Coral distress inks to color the flowers. I then added some highlights using color pencils and also added the stem for one of the colors. The stripes come from Winnie & Walter Scenery: Stripes, which I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa, Potter’s Clay inks. The sentiment is from Altenew Magnolias For Her, which I stamped in Memento Potter’s Clay. I then die cut two sides using a die from Paper Smooches Borders 2 and mounted it on a kraft card base. I then added some gold glitter stickles and a few gold sequins to embellish.

Blooms and WatercoloringAfter watercoloring, I added the flowers and leaves from Ellen Hutson Bold Blooms and added the glitter, sequins and the rhinestones. I then added the blue patterned washi tape behind (by first adding it to a strip of cardstock) and mounted it to a black card base. I had actually forgotten to stamp the sentiment and only did it after I mounted the watercolor panel – and since it didn’t stamp well, I had to go over the entire sentiment again with my black pen! 😀 Thankfully, the sentiment is big and I could do that easily!! 😛

Watercolored Anemones

Hello! Back with another card! 🙂

I made this card a week ago and was debating whether I wanted to post about it – finally decided to do it!

AnemonesI used two of my newest additions to my stash – WPlus9 Watercolored Anemones and the geometric patterned washi tape – yup, that’s what you see in the background! 🙂 I love geometry in cards and a washi tape just perfect for such easy background creation is just perfect! What’s more, it can go with most colors, as its only neutrals! Makes me so happy thinking about the possibilities!! 😀

Anyway, coming back to my card – after stamping the flowers using Memento Dandilion, Tuxedo Black and Hero Arts Soft Granite, I trimmed an edge using Paper Smooches Borders 2 and added a couple of dashed lines using a black pen. I then adhered the panel on the card base, on which I had added the washi tape. The sentiment is die cut using Die-version Celebrate die, colored in Zig Clean Color Real Brush pen. I adhered a couple of the die cuts together to get a little bit (not too much) of dimension.

Submitting this card to WPlus9 Get Sketchy Challenge #3 and Make The Day Special September Challenge Week 1 (I used the yellow and shades of grey combination) –
