#349 – Christmas Lights

Hello! Yet another Christmas card. 🙂

I love it when I can pull out more uses from a stamp (or a die or a stencil or anything else! ;)) When I got Simon Says Stamp One With Nature last week, I had already seen plenty of wonderful examples for using this stamp. I figured out one more! 😉

I used them as Christmas lights! Now I didn’t want to use the traditional colors. I used Memento inks Bahama Blue, Danube Blue, Lilac Posies and Grape Jelly to color stamp the insides of the lights. For the background too, I didn’t want a soft blue. I experimented with colors until I was satisfied with the combination of red and yellow. And so, I colored the background using Ripe Persimmon and Mustard Seed distress inks as watercolors. I also added a few splatters of the Grape Jelly, Ripe Persimmon and Mustard Seed.

Once things were dry, I added loads of clear Wink of Stella glitter to the lights and stamped the other part of the lights – the boundary and the lines using Memento Tuxedo Black. I then extended the lines to the top of the card using a black pen and also added bows on the very top. Finally I stamped the sentiment from Bo Bunny Sentiments in Memento Tuxedo Black too.

And that finished my simple but colorful Christmas card! 🙂
