PE: Winner at Cupcake Inspirations challenge!!

Cupcake Inspirations - Sweet Six

Global Design Project Winner!!

Global Design Project - Winner

Hello! Back with more critter CAS cards! Think I am on a roll? I don’t think so – I just finished all the critter ideas I had, and I don’t think I’ll be getting any more in the near future! šŸ˜› In the meantime, I am also celebrating 2 years of blogging! I never even remembered until today! šŸ™‚

Well, setting that aside, here’s my first card –

2016-05-03(1)

I used only WPlus9 Happy Mail for this card. After stamping the critters in Paper Trey Ink Classic Kraft, I watercolored them using Dried Marigold + Tattered Rose, Pumice Stone and Seedless Preserves distress inks. I then trimmed the panel, rounded the top corners, stamped the sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black and foam mounted the panel on the card base.

Submitting this to Global Design Project #34: Sketch Challenge, Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #358 and CASometry Challenge #2: Make 5

For my second card, I actually went back and forth three times before coming up with the final version –

2016-05-03(2)

I realized the best way to make these cards involving critters in CAS is to confine the stamped space to a small area – spreading it all over the card just wasn’t working for me! Coming back to the card – I first cut out a panel using My Favorite Things Pinking Edge Rectangle, stamped the doggie from My Favorite Things Top Dog using Memento Tuxedo Black and die cut the kite, from Paper Smooches Kite. I also die cut the kite from some plaid pattern paper from DCWV Floral Stack. I then sponged in the sky and grass using Mowed Lawn and Cracked Pistachio distress inks and colored the heart and the little doggie’s scarf using Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens. After stamping the sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black I also drew the kite’s string using Copic Multi-liner 0.3 pen. I then used a scrap piece of card stock to adhere the kite and the card panel and foam mounted the while thing on the card base using foam tape.

Submitting this to Less is more #274: Pattern Paper, Addicted to CAS #87: Plaid, Happy Little Stampers: May CAS Challenge: In-laid Die-cutting, Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge #9 (I chose Birthday, Sponging, White Space) and Paru’s Card Making Challenge: May Challenge: Summer

Thanks for stopping by! šŸ™‚

That’s a great co-incidence that we started blogging at the same time! And I agree – looking back and seeing where I stood then and now..is just wonderful! šŸ™‚
