#484 – Ellen Hutson Mix It Up with Technique Tuesday

PE: Winner at Stampin’ Royalty!!

Stampin' Royalty Winner

Hello!

Its been ages since I participate in an Ellen Hutson challenge – owing to either lack of a company’s products for the Mix It Up challenges or mojo for the Pin-sights challenge. Now, finally, having satisfied both conditions, I could happily play along 😀

The challenge this time is Mix It Up with Technique Tuesday. And here’s the card I made –

2016-06-02(1a)

Using normal cardstock, I started with stamping both the flower, from Ellen Hutson Mondo Magnolia and the sentiment, from Technique Tuesday Hello Sunshine, in Versamark watermark ink and heat embossing the flower using Zing white embossing powder and the sentiment using Wow Copper embossing powder.

Next, I water-colored the flower and a bit of the outside using Perfect Pearls. I thought of trying this when I saw a post in Penny Black, where they used a different product which was a shiny watercolor medium. I kept it in mind, but hadn’t tried it for quite some time. Then when I saw this video by Kristina Werner, I knew I just had to make a card! And I am so glad I did – I love the outcome!!

I used Perfect Pearls in Blush, Berry Twist and Copper. Coloring was super easy, once I got the consistency right (Kristina was right, you don’t need too much Perfect Pearls or water). And the shine is just spectacular!!

Once everything was dry, I partially die cut the panel using Paper Smooches Borders 2, and fuzzy cut the flower. I then added a strip of cardstock that I painted with silver acrylic paint on the card base before foam mounting the panel. Finally, I embellished the card with some pearls.

I am also submitting this card to Addicted to CAS #89: Petals, Stamping Royalty #332: Flowers and Addicted to Stamps #196: Anything Goes
