#546 – Embossing on Vellum

Hello! I am back with another card! 🙂

I tried embossing on vellum and then coloring using Zig brush pens, to make a simple, but colorful background. I used My Favorite Things Simply Circles stamp and gold embossing powder to heat emboss it. I then adhered the vellum on a white card panel using double sided tape.

I then foam mounted the panel on kraft card base, added the sentiment from Paper Trey Ink Wet Paint 3 and added a few star wood veneers which I colored black using a glitter gel pen.

#545 – One Stamp; One Design; Two Ways

Hello!

I tried making these two sets of cards, with the same stamp set, same design, with the only difference being the coloring –

Sending Love

The flowers and sentiment are from Altenew Beautiful lady stamp set, which I colored using Zig Brush Pens. I used Memento Tuxedo Black to stamp them. Normally I wouldn’t use this ink if I was watercoloring, but I did – since the coloring was less, there would be minimal contact with the pens and the black ink, and so, there wouldn’t be much leaking.

#544 – Seize The Birthday: Lots of Leaves

Hello!! Welcome to my first post as a DT member of Seize the Birthday!!! There, its finally out – oh, I had such trouble keeping it in for so many days!! I am super happy to be a part of this amazing team, where I am debuting as a DT!!

Seize The Birthday - Blog

Our Surprise Party Guest is Sherrie Koning, amazing crafter – you should go and check her out!! And here’s the theme for the latest Seize the Birthday Challenge – Lots of Leaves.

Seize The Birthday - The Toppings

I was really inspired by this card by Keeway (Kiwi Concepts) – love the way she has created this dreamy card, and the colors just wow me!! And here’s what I made –

Happy Birthday - Seize the Birthday - Leaves

I started by blending in a green ombre using distress ink on a watercard panel. I then stamped the ferns from Lesia Zgharda Ferns stamp set and heat embossed them clear. I then added water on the entire panel using a flat paint brush, and picked off the color. This made the embossed areas slightly darker, and gave a beautiful effect.

Happy Birthday - Seize the Birthday - Leaves

I then trimmed this panel and foam mounted it on the card base. For the sentiment, I cut Paper Smooches Happy Birthday die to cut a piece from card stock and foam, adhered them to each other and then on the card. Finally I embellished them using clear rhinestones.

Hope you are inspired by my creation! You can get even more amazing inspiration from the rest of the Design Team! Remember, you can choose either to go with the theme, or with any creation, which has a birthday theme. Just have fun and play along!!

#543 – Waffle Flower Guest Designer!!

Hello everyone! I am over Waffle Flower Crafts as a Guest Designer! I had won the August Waffle Flower Challenge with this card and was kindly invited to Guest Design! Yippie!!!

I have a couple of cards with the cute animals from Monochrome stamp –

03

I’ve used some custom made background paired with some pattern paper from Best of Heidi Swapp for these two cards. For the patterned background I created, I chose the smallest stamps from Waffle Flower Crafts I could find in my stash (I’ve used stamps from Monochrome, A Bunch, Congrats and Lacy Flower) and chose a series of at least 6-8 colors for each card and stamped them on two card panels.

04

Once I was done, I also stamped the cute animals, the speech bubbles + sentiments, and then fussy cut them all. I also added a piece of torn vellum for the card with the mice, since the critters themselves are too small to draw focus on them..and the vellum would soften the background and draw the line of sight.

05

Finally, I covered the card base with pattern paper, and then adhered my stamped panels on them before foam mounting the critters and the sentiments, along with some wood veneer embellishments.

06

Did you notice that the cards can easily be changed into masculine or feminine cards, based on the colors – for example, the mice card could be made to a Dad card, using the blues and greens instead of the pinks and reds! So easy!! 🙂

07

Thanks for having me over, Waffle Flower Crafts!! 🙂 I really had fun making these cards!!

#542 – Penny Black Cascade

PE: Top at Sovushka Slavia CAS Marathon Stage 4: Embossing!!

Honorable Mention at The Flower Challenge!!

The Flower Challenge - Honorable Mention

I knew as soon as I saw this stamp that I wanted it! Its super beautiful, I love the mix of flowers, all clustered – just perfect for a bunch of techniques! I just wanted to get a good chance to use it! I made this card, mainly as another submission to the Sovushka Slavia CAS Marathon, but another reason, the Flower Challenge – just perfect two reasons!! 😉

Thank You

I used my MISTI for this, since I required to stamp multiple times – I first used three inks – PTI Sweet Blush, PTI Melon Berry and PTI Fine Linen, stamped them in ombre, then stamped it again in Versamark watermark ink and heat embossed it clear. I then colored it using Zig brush markers, and then added some splatters with water and brown ink.

Thank You

I then die cut the panel above, using SSS Wavy Scallop Stitches (I actually had to do partial die cutting, passing it twice to get the panel cut, since the direction of the wave is actually different in the die cut). I then stamped the sentiment from Penny Black Flower Sparks in Memento Tuxedo Black and mounted it using foam tape.

#540 – Winnie & Walter: The Gossip Column: Take 2

PE: Hot Gossips (runner-up) at the Gossip Column challenge!!!

Hello! The Gossip Column this time is really inspiring!! I have already added one card to the challenge, but I thought of making another, especially since the time was extended! So, since I got my fill with glitter last time, I thought I would try some leafing –

Happy Birthday

I started with a card panel and added embossing paste over Winnie & Walter Scenery: Madison stencil. After leaving it overnight to dry, I added Zig two way glue, left it alone for some 15 mins, before adding my leafing. The leafing I used was actually leftover pieces, with gold, copper and silver leafing.

Happy Birthday

Once that dried, I added the sentiment, with the Winnie & Walter Happy cut using white cardstock and foam mounted and the rest of the sentiment from Winnie & Walter The Big, The Bold & Party stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black.
