#569 – Snowman Sweeties

Hello! I am re-featuring here the cards I made for Paper Smooches for the last Guest Designer post I had there. I had total fun playing with all the products that Kim sent me (thank you so much Kim!) And here, I am writing a bit more about the cards I made –

I used Melted Snowman die set and Winter Sampler stamp set on both cards. I even kept a neon blue + black theme for both the cards.

Paper Smooches GD - You Melt My Heart

For my first card, I simply die cut pieces using Snow Drifts die set, adhered them over a piece of neon blue cardstock I die cut using SSS Stitched Rectangles die. This could act as snowdrift or some wind – whatever you think it is! 🙂  I white heat embossed the sentiment. I then assembled the snowman, colored it using Zig brush markers, covered it with clear Wink of Stella – it really is a shame it is not showing in the images, it looks fabulous! – and finally adhered this on the blue base.

Paper Smooches GD - You Melt My Heart

For the card base, I stamped the snowflakes from Paper Smooches Cool Dudes stamp set using Black Soot distress ink. And then I mounted the blue panel on it using foam tape. Finally, I added some silver glitter dots around the blue panel for embellishing.

And for my second card –

Paper Smooches GD - Christmas Wishes

I stamped the sentiments and images from Sentiment Sampler and Cool Dudes stamp sets and then die cut the frame using Paper Smooches Frame 2 die. I actually wanted to create a shaker with sparkly beads in it, but didn’t, since the vellum was dulling the beads. So instead, I added the glitter on the vellum itself! 😀

So, once I created the window and adhered everything on the card base, I added the snowman. Again, I colored it using Zig brush markers and covered it with clear Wink of Stella. I finally added Nuvo Crystal drops in Aquatic Mist for embellishing.

Thank you for stopping by! 🙂

#568 -Celebrate New

PE: Chosen as Simon Says Stamp Card of the Week at Instagram!!

Hello! Just now am I receiving all the crafting goodies I purchased during the Thanksgiving sales..imagine having to wait for a month!! That’s my usual story! 😥 But the wait is totally it when I open the parcels and find awesome steals! And then I can’t wait to get crafting!! 😀

And when I received the parcels last week, I set aside two products specifically, so I could combine them and create a card. I had to wait a week before actually making one..somehow couldn’t make one before this! But I got the chance today! Now, keep in mind that these products aren’t exactly new, but they are definitely new for me! 🙂

I combined Neat and Tangled Doily Tag with the Simon Says Stamp Gift of Love stamp set, added some watercoloring, and added the sentiment from Paper Trey Ink Good Times. Combined this with a card base embossed using Spellbinders Paisley embossing folder and some slimmer and sequins for embellishing, and you get this pretty card! 🙂

I am really happy with this card – the doily tag makes such a beautiful combination with the embossing – love it!! 😀

#566 – Coffee and Warm Wishes

Hello! I am showcasing two cards today, which were featured a few days back in Paper Smooches blog, with me as the Guest Designer.

I used the beautiful Cozy Coffee die for my two cards –

Paper Smooches GD Week 3 - Warm Wishes

For my first card, I used a handmade plaid paper, made using Zig brush pens. I then die cut it, then used inlaid die cutting to piece the cozy cup together. I also cut the sentiment using the same piece. I then used a piece of scrap piece of card stock, added gold foil, then die cut it using the heart in the die set.

Paper Smooches GD Week 3 - Warm Wishes

For the card base, I used We R Memory Keepers Geometric embossing folder to emboss the background, then adhered the cup and the sentiment on it.

For my second card –

Paper Smooches GD Week 3 - Warm Wishes<

For this card, I chose pattern paper The Best of Heidi Swapp, adhered it to a card panel, trimmed it to size. I then arranged and stamped all the sentiments on the right and heatSince some of the gold accidentally got embossed on a different part of the card embossed them all in gold. Since some of the gold accidentally got embossed on a different part of the card For some additional effect, I added some more splattered gold heat embossing by just rubbing the paper with my hand..the embossing powder just sticks to that, right! 😉 How clever of me! 😛

Finally, I die cut the coffee cup using the Cozy Coffee die cut, and made it a shaker using some of my sister’s gold seed beads. I also added some gold sparkle on the die outline, using Deco Art Glamour Dust Ultra Fine Glitter Paint, which also helped to make it stand out a bit.

#565 – MFT Color and Sketch Challenge

PE: Spotted by My Favorite Things Challenge blog!!

My Favorite Things - Spotted

Hello! Its been quite some time since I made a card, just because I felt like making a card.. and today, I did just that! 🙂 It wasn’t my best, since its been some time, I felt happy just making something… that’s the real point after all, right?! 😉

My inspiration this time came from the MFT Color and Sketch Challenges.

MFT Color Challenge #312

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #60

And here’s the card I made –

Find Joy In The Ordinary

I chose MFT Flash Florals for the flowers in focus and to make the backgrounds too. Then a fishtail frame and solid piece for the piece in between using MFT Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner. Only the sentiment is not from MFT, it is from Neat & Tangled Scandinavian Prints.

Find Joy In The Ordinary

Off to try and make some more now! Hopefully, I will get my crafty mojo running and get a couple before long! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

#564 – Paper Smooches Guest Designer (Part 3)

Warm Wishes

Cozy Coffee

Please hop over to the Paper Smooches blog to see the complete cards! 🙂

And thank you for stopping by! 🙂

#563 – Christmas Mittens!!

Today I am just showing in my own blog what was published in the Paper Smooches blog a few days ago, when I was the Guest Designer. I have two cards, with some fantastic mitten gloves as the main feature for Christmas cards!

Paper Smooches GD (Part 2)

I used felt to make my pretty mittens, using Paper Smooches Mittens die, in the first card. I even used a bit of silver glitter on the felt for that special sparkle! I paired the mittens with pattern paper from Melquisedec Dream stack. I added some kraft cardstock, adorned with pattern made using Basically Essential Remember & Thanks stencil and Unicorn White pigment ink. Finally the sentiment came from Paper Smooches Winter Sampler.

Paper Smooches GD (Part 2)

And for the second card –

Paper Smooches GD (Part 2)

For this card, I used pattern papers for my mittens and the background. I used Paper Smooches Snow Drifts dies to add the wavy lines in the background – I die cut a white cardstock with the dies pretty close, so that I could use both the positive and the negative parts.

Paper Smooches GD (Part 2)

Once done, I adhered everything in place, along with the stacked sentiments using Paper Smooches Warm Wishes.

Thank you so much for stopping by! 🙂
