#647 – Marbled and Flowery Hello

Hello!! 🙂 I’ve been a bit busy creating things which will only be posted next month.. A little too busy to keep current posts coming, I realized. So I decided to take a break and create a card I can post about now.. its nice, after all, when I can just create something because I want to, than ‘have’ to! 🙂

I used a new stamp set in my stash, another one that I absolutely wanted as soon as I saw it – Waffle Flower Layering Marble. Now, I know that the color combination is somewhat unusual for a marble, but I thought it would look good with the card..

The flowers are from My Favorite Things Bold Blooms, and the sentiment is from Memory Box Hello die. I added a strip of triangle pattern washi tape as it matched the rest of the card so well.

#646 – Mixed Media Box

Hello! No card this time.. its time for some ‘etc.’! 😉

Mixed Media Box

I had made this mixed media box some time ago.. high time I posted about it! I used a simple cardboard box which came as a container for some mail as a base, covered it with some thick paper, applied gesso, then used all those media…

Mixed Media Box

I first used Time Holtz Lace stencil with some embossing paste, both on the top and the sides. I then started adding all my little pieces and flowers. The two main pieces (they are starting to look like drawer handles to me now!! :D) are moulded using Prima Markting Moulds Object Labels 1 and Escutcheon 2 and Prima Paper Clay. I painted these using acrylics, then adhered them using 3d Matte Gel. I then added all the flowers and the pearls and stones around it. I also added some Art Stones.

Mixed Media Box

I then used Color Bloom Spray, misting it with water, spreading it using a brush, until I was satisfied with the look. I then applied some Nuvo Mousse and some gold paint, where I wanted a things a bit shinier.

#645 – Seize the Birthday – Splatter

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Seize the Birthday!! This time you have a topping of ‘Splatter’. It is an optional topping, meaning it is still ok to go with a Birthday project of any kind, if you don’t like adding splatters to your project! Its your choice!

Seize The Birthday - The Toppings

Seize The Birthday - Anything Goes

Of course, I chose to add splatters to my inspiration birthday card! Plenty of them, in fact!

Celebrate Its Your Birthday

To make this card, I watercolored a watercolor panel with my Gansai Tambi watercolors. I was not sure whether I wanted the whole card or a portion of the card to be colored, so I initially colored a  complete panel. But once dry, I decided to trim it out, tearing off the base portion, for some added texture.

Celebrate Its Your Birthday

Well, I die cut the leaves (?) out of Concord and 9th Layering Leaves die out of the same watercolor paper. Since this is offwhite, I chose the card base also to be off white. I then added the splatters on both the watercolored panel and the card base. Once everything was dry, I added the leaves, then the die cut sentiment from Die Versions Celebrate die, and the stamped sentiment, which is from Paper Trey Ink Wet Paint 3.

#644 – Sovushka Slavia: Card Sketch Challenge

Hello! I am so humbled to be invited as a Guest Designer at the Sovushka Slavia blog! I absolutely love their CAS Sketches! And the inspiration that the DT provides… absolutely spectacular.. every single time!!! So, you might guess that I was a little intimidated.. but the sketch was so pretty, every other thought went out of my mind!

I love those little repeat patterns – I wish I had a stamp or stencil exactly like it!! But I don’t, so I repeated something else instead! 😀

I used My Favorite Things Bold Blooms stamp set, which I newly added to my stash. I used distress inks to stamp the flowers, misting them before stamping. I love th soft look of the flowers in this, so pretty!

Once done, I thought of trimming the panel before adhering it to card base, but then had a thought of reversing this – so I added a frame that I had die cut and left over from a previous project on top of this panel, instead.

Now for the sentiment, I used WPlus9 Hello die. I thought of adding some texture or pattern on the die cut before adding it to my card. I used My Favorite Things Pinstripes stamp for this. I first stamped the card with the same dark pink I used on the flowers,  twice more with the lighter pink, then carefully making sure that the there is white space between the operlapped stamped stripes. I then die cut the scrap cardstock piece, along with several others, then stacked them and adhered it on the card. I then stamped the rest of the sentiment, from Altenew Beautiful Lady stamp set, using Hero Arts Soft Granite Ink.

I hope you stop by the Sovushka Slavia blog, where they have the DT providing some absolutely grand cards, get inspired and play along!

#643 – Birthday Wishes

Hello! I made a bright and bold birthday card this time –

Birthday Wishes

I used Altenew Vintage Flowers for the flowers. After stamping them, I wanted to make a fuzzy mask for them, something that would not perfectly cover the image, just provide a sort of border around it for me to stamp the background stripes. To make this, I took a scrap piece of paper, and holding it above the paper, held it against the light and drew a rough outline on the paper. I then fuzzy cut it out, and placed it above the card base, to stamp those stripes.

Birthday Wishes

Here’s the list of supplies used –
Altenew Vintage Roses
My Favorite Things Bold Diagonal Stripes
Honey Bee Stamps Hooray Day
Paper Trey Ink Wet Paint 3
Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles

#641 – Foiled Butterflies

Hello! Yup, I made a couple more cards!! Who could stop themselves when they get to add some pretty butterflies – and with foiling to boot!! Not me!! 😀

Happy Birthday

My first card, I used gold foil from DecoFoil. The butterflies are from Tattered Lace, which I mounted over a die cut panel, which I embossed using Altenew Sketched Lines stencil, and mounted over a white card base. The tag sentiment is from Neat and Tangled Birthday Tags die.

I am submitting this card to the following challenges –

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #177 – Tic Tac Toe (I used butterflies, add a tag, add texture)

Stempel Garten Challenge #63: Anything that Flies

Happy Little Stampers: July CAS Challenge: Birthday

For my second card, I used aluminium foil – I adhered it to some scrap card stock using double sided tape and die cut both the butterfly and the sentiment from them. The butterfly is from My Favorite Things Flutter of Butterflies and the sentiment is Paper Smooches Warm Wishes.

Warm Wishes

For the colorful background, I used Paper Trey Ink Triangles cover plate die. I die cut several colorful cardstock, then pieced them together to the pattern I found in the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge. Somehow I found that creating the pattern for the background to be easier than creating some random pattern for it – then I would have had to ensure that not too many similar pieces are together.. so tiring!! 😉
