#639 – Seize the Birthday – Red, White and You

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Seize the Birthday! The challenge is all about creating a Birthday project and have fun making it! You are also given an optional Topping, and the Topping this time is ‘Red, White and You’.. meaning you need to use the colors Red and White along with another color in your Birthday project!

Seize The Birthday - Anything Goes

You’ll find lots of inspiration at the Seize the Birthday blog, fabulous projects created by our amazing DT and also our Surprise Party Guest, Lindsey! In the meantime, here’s my inspiration –

Happy Birthday to You

I chose the color orange along with my red and white. I initially thought of yellow and blue, but since these were a pretty common combination, I searched for something new. I had initially chosen a teal/mint color, but finally ended up with orange! πŸ™‚

I used Winnie and Walter In Bloom: Lola’s Bouquet, stamped and colored them using distress inks. I then fuzzy cut the flowers right along the outline. I then die cut a panel using Reverse Confetti Edgar’s Confetti Cuts, Stamped the sentiment from Paper Trey Inks Wet Paint and Wet Paint 3. The ‘you’ is from Simon Says Stamp, which I colored using a red Zig Brush Marker.

Happy Birthday to You

  1. So glad you exhausted all options and went with orange! This is an unusual color choice yet it looks AMAZING! Love the layout and the way the flowers are sticking over the edge! Beautimous! Meaning Beautiful +Fabulous combined!

  2. This is the way I would like to make cards someday. Your flowers look so real, peeking out form the scalloped edge. You have the sentiment the spotlight, but oh those flowers. I am going to pin this one.

  3. The orange is so bright and sunny with the red! Love the cluster of flowers and the big sentiment. Thrilled to be joining you for the next few challenges!
