Hello! I am so humbled to be invited as a Guest Designer at the Sovushka Slavia blog! I absolutely love their CAS Sketches! And the inspiration that the DT provides… absolutely spectacular.. every single time!!! So, you might guess that I was a little intimidated.. but the sketch was so pretty, every other thought went out of my mind!
I love those little repeat patterns – I wish I had a stamp or stencil exactly like it!! But I don’t, so I repeated something else instead! 😀
I used My Favorite Things Bold Blooms stamp set, which I newly added to my stash. I used distress inks to stamp the flowers, misting them before stamping. I love th soft look of the flowers in this, so pretty!
Once done, I thought of trimming the panel before adhering it to card base, but then had a thought of reversing this – so I added a frame that I had die cut and left over from a previous project on top of this panel, instead.
Now for the sentiment, I used WPlus9 Hello die. I thought of adding some texture or pattern on the die cut before adding it to my card. I used My Favorite Things Pinstripes stamp for this. I first stamped the card with the same dark pink I used on the flowers, twice more with the lighter pink, then carefully making sure that the there is white space between the operlapped stamped stripes. I then die cut the scrap cardstock piece, along with several others, then stacked them and adhered it on the card. I then stamped the rest of the sentiment, from Altenew Beautiful Lady stamp set, using Hero Arts Soft Granite Ink.
I hope you stop by the Sovushka Slavia blog, where they have the DT providing some absolutely grand cards, get inspired and play along!
