#660 – Seize the Birthday – Ocean Colors – Blue, Green and Aqua

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Seize the Birthday! This time we have a color challenge for you – to go with ocean colors – Blue, Green and Aqua. Of course, you can choose to go without the topping and just join us with any Birthday project of your choice!

Seize The Birthday - The Toppings

Seize The Birthday - Anything Goes

Here’ the card I made inspired by the pretty ocean colors –

Make A Wish

To make this card, I first stamped the Simon Says Stamp Emma stamp on watercolor paper, then heat embossed it in white. I then colored it using Zig brush pen. I wasn’t too careful during coloring, since I planned to spray it with some perfect pearls mist later. Giving it a good spray, I left it aside to dry.

Make A Wish

Once dry, I fuzzy cut the outline, then mounted it over watercolor card base. I then stamped the sentiment, from Simon Says Stamp Big Birthday Wishes using black ink on a scrap cardstock, trimmed it and foam mounted it on the card base. No embellishing necessary, right?! πŸ™‚

Hello and welcome to yet another day of Winnie & Walter August/September 2017 Release! Today the whole Winnie & Walter team is showcasing Ring in the Celebration stamp set, Mini Scenery: Round and Round stamp set and Ring in the Celebration Cutaways.

For my cards, I’ve used Ring in the Celebration stamp set and Mini Scenery: Round and Round stamp set along with some other W&W products –

W&W Aug-Sep Release - 31 Aug - All Cards

For my first card, I used the Ring in the Celebration stamp set. I heat embossed the images in white, and applied distress oxide inks. The sentiment comes from In Bloom: Carolina’s Florals.

W&W Aug-Sep Release - 31 Aug - Card 1 Closeup

For my second card, I used Mini Scenery: Round and Round stamp set. I used a creamish card base, on which I used masking and heat embossing in gold to get the lovely circles across the whole width of the panel. I then fuzzy cut one side of it. The sentiment on the black card base comes from Sentimental: Gift, which I heat embossed before mounting the circle embossed panel on top, along with a strip of gold and copper leafing.

W&W Aug-Sep Release - 31 Aug - Card 2 Closeup

#658 – Winnie & Walter August/September 2017 Release – Day 2

Hello and welcome to another day of Winnie & Walter’s August/September 2017 Release. Today, the whole Winnie & Walter team are showcasing Happy Birthday to You stamp set, In Bloom: Shirley’s Blooms stamp set, Sentimental: Gift, Happy Birthday to You Cutaways and In Bloom: Shirley’s Blooms Cutaways.

And I am using the In Bloom: Shirley’s Blooms stamp set with some other W&W products in the two cards I am presenting today –

W&W Aug-Sep Release - 30 Aug - All Cards

For my first card, I simple used distress inks to cover up the background, stamped the sentiment from Sentimental: Gift, then stamped the pretty flowers and leaves from In Bloom: Shirley’s Blooms stamp set in black ink. I then trimmed and adhered this over a white card base and used a few black rhinestones for embellishing.

W&W Aug-Sep Release - 30 Aug - Card 1 Closeup

My second card uses a sort-of retro looking flowers. I stamped the flowers using different inks, and colored the background using Zig Brush marker. The sentiment comes from Wish Big From Evelin T Designs stamp set, which we will showcase tomorrow. When I stamped the sentiment first, in brown ink, I guess the background was still a bit wet, so it ended up spreading a bit, and this formed a sort of shadow/halo around the black ink, when I stamped it over after waiting till it was completely dry. Happy accident! πŸ™‚

W&W Aug-Sep Release - 30 Aug - Card 2 Closeup

I also added a few dots on the flowers and here and there, and added some sparkle using a glitter pen on both the flowers and the sentiment. I then die cut this panel using Essentials: Lana’s Cutaways, then mounted it at an angle on a black card base.

For more inspiration using today’s products, you can hop over to the Winnie & Walter blog! Thank you so much for stopping by today, and hope you’ll come back tomorrow for the release Premier Day 3!

#657 – Altenew Inspired

PE: Caught by Altenew!! (from my Flickr account)

Altenew - Caught by Altenew

Top Pick at Inkspirational Challenge!! πŸ˜€

Inkspirational - Winner

Hello! It feels like a break, to be working on something Altenew – I purposely didn’t touch these stamps for quite some time.. I mean I used to pick up Altenew products every time I wanted to create something, even though I have tons of other products, so I thought about not touching them for some time. But finally, I am giving in… I just couldn’t resist the latest Altenew challenge anymore! Here’s what I made –

Celebrate

One of those cards which is quite easy to make, and looks absolutely glamourous in the end. I used Dodecagram stamp to repeatedly stamp over a watercolor panel using sticky ink, and then heat embossed it in gold. I then used Gansai Tambi watercolors to color, using lots of the pigment to get a good coverage. Once finished, I spritzed in some water again, so that the color is well immersed, blended and settled down more or less evenly. Finally, once it dried, I repeated the heat embossing, since the color had dulled a bit. This also gave it that extra good shiny look due to the double embossing.

Celebrate

Though my initial idea was to trim it, once I finished, I was loath to cut it down to a normal card size, so I kept it as is. I chose a dark brown card base, but it wasn’t the right color, so I blended in some Walnut Stain distress ink and layered a panel of some shiny gold paper that I have between the card base and the watercolro/heat-embossed panel. Then I foam mounted the sentiment, from Label Love, which I gold heat embossed over black card stock. I also added a few gold rhinestones for embellishing.

Absolutely in love with the beautiful colors that I achieved so easily with this. Like my sister said, it looks like one of those Persian glass artworks, albeit a little bit darker! πŸ™‚

I am joining the following challenges with my card –

#656 – Winnie & Walter August/September 2017 Release

Hello! I am so honored that Shay asked me to join Winnie & Walter’s August/September 2017 Release. Its full of fun stamps and dies, and I just can’t wait to show what I’ve created with them all with you! πŸ™‚

Today we are showcasing the In a Word: Happy stamp set, In a Word: Happy Coordinating Cutaways, In a Word: Birthday Tiles Cutaways, In a Word: Birthday Tiles Cutaways. Unfortunately, I haven’t received any of the dies from this release yet, so I’ll be showcasing only the stamps instead. But I can assure you, you’ll not be disappointed! πŸ™‚

I have used the stamp set In A Word: Happy to make 4 cards – I just wanted to use all the fonts in this stamp set! πŸ˜‰

W&W Aug-Sep Release - 29 Aug - Card 1

For my first card, I used a woodgrain texture cardstock, stamped the outlined ‘happy’ and ‘everything’ on it using black ink, then trimmed the panel, with a little of the sentiment overhanging. The background has the small flowers and leaves stamped in monochrome, over which I added a few details using a black pen.

W&W Aug-Sep Release - 29 Aug - Card 2

My second card has both the solid and outlined ‘happy’ sentiments. I used similar inks to stamp each ‘happy’, stamping the solid part in a lighter ink, and the solid part in three different darker inks. I then die cut the panel using the In A Word: Happy die, mounted it over white card base. The ‘for you’ is from another stamp set, Sentimental: Gift.

W&W Aug-Sep Release - 29 Aug - Card 3

My next card uses leafing to add shine, while keeping it easy and simple. I used double sided tape on the card base to add gold and copper foil, and used sticky embossing powder for the sentiment to stick the foil.

W&W Aug-Sep Release - 29 Aug - Card 3 Close Up

Look at that shiny leafing! Just love it!! πŸ™‚

W&W Aug-Sep Release - 29 Aug - Card 4

For my last card, I used the colors from the Winnie & Walter August Color Combo Challenge with Heather.

To keep things simple, I just added the sentiment using silver and white heat embossing.

W&W Aug-Sep Release - 29 Aug - Card 4 Close Up

Hope you are inspired by my cards. Of course, there’s a lot more fantastic inspiration from the Winnie & Walter’s DT.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Do drop by again tomorrow to see the what’s next in the release! πŸ™‚

Happy Little Stampers - Watercolour Favourite Badge

Hello and welcome to my last week as the Winnie & Walter Leading Lady! Can’t believe its already the last week!! I had so much fun making these cards and posts, wish it would last longer!!

Winnie & Walter Leading Lady Badge

For my last post, I am showcasing these cute little critters, so adorable, I just threw away any other ideas I had so I could use them on my cards! πŸ™‚

Winnie & Walter Leading Lady - Aug Week 4 - Card 1

For my first card, I used the critters from Party On. I stamped them using a brown ink, then gave them a soft watercoloring using distress inks. I did the same with the flowers. For the background, too I used distress inks. And the grassy hill/ground – I die cut that using the Party On Die, too! The sentiment comes from Happy Dance.

Winnie & Walter Leading Lady - Aug Week 4 - Card 2

For my second card, I used the critters from Happy Dance. I colored these critters using Zig brush pens. I used distress oxide ink for the background, masking each area for coloring in, added a few splotches of water, then stamped a few stars from the same stamp set, for something extra. Finally added the sentiments from Sentimental: Birthday. I then trimmed the piece, adhering it over a black card base with glitter washi tape at the side.

Winnie & Walter Leading Lady - Aug Week 4 - Card 3

For my last card, I used the critters from an older set, Happy Owlidays – the owls are just totally adorable! I watercolored the owls using distress inks, fuzzy cut them. For the background, I created a galaxy background using watercolors, then tore up half the panel and mounted it on my white card base. I then added the branch and the cute owls, and also stamped the sentiment.

Winnie & Walter Leading Lady - Aug Week 4 - All Cards

So there are the three cards together! Hope you liked them!

#654 – Winnie & Walter Leading Lady Take 3

Hello and welcome to the take 3 of my role as Winnie & Walter Leading Lady for August.

Winnie & Walter Leading Lady Badge

This time, I am focusing making my cards monochrome while using a single stamp set, and the same layout. Even the arrangement of flowers is the same. I’ve made three cards using these points as the leads –

Winnie & Walter Leading Lady - Aug Week 2 - All Cards

I used Winnie and Walter In Bloom: Addie’s Garden for the flower arrangement, die-cut the frame using Essentials: Lana’s Cutaways for all three cards. Lets go through the cards one by one..

For my first card, I went with greys and silver. For the background, I used a light grey cardbase, and stamped the images just around the edges using masks and a dark grey ink.

Winnie & Walter Leading Lady - Aug Week 2 - Card 2

For the panel in focus, I first heat embossed the images in clear embossing powder and then watercolored it using Gansai Tambi silver paint. A little paint was enough to get lots of shimmer and coverage, and the whole thing finished very quickly. Once it dried, I covered the image and added the splatters around the image using the same paint.

Winnie & Walter Leading Lady - Aug Week 2 -Card 2 Closeup

See that beautiful shimmer? So beautiful! I then foam mounted the panel and stamped the sentiment, from Sketchy thoughts in black ink.

For my second card, I went with color spash –

Winnie & Walter Leading Lady - Aug Week 2 - Card 3

For this card, I stamped each of the image separately, then fuzzy cut them. For the panel, I watercolored it a bright shade of green, then, once dry, die cut it, and finally I adhered the flower and leaf pieces on it. To give a liitttle bit of dimension, I curved the flowers’ and leaves’ edges.

Winnie & Walter Leading Lady - Aug Week 2 - Card 2 Closeup

For the card base, I picked a line stamp from the Scenery: Stripes stamp, and lying the stamp in a curvy fashion on my acrylic block, stamped it using black ink. After stamping this several times, I then changed to other curves and stamped it, covering the whole image thus. The sentiment comes from The Big, the Bold and You stamp set.

For my final and most favorite card, I made a sketch of sorts –

Winnie & Walter Leading Lady - Aug Week 2 - Card 3

I used a paper which is meant for sketches, but any paper will do for this method. I first stamped my arrangement using a light grey ink, then used a normal pencil to sketch. I don’t claim to be an expert in sketching, but trust me, these flowers are just perfect – super easy to make a sketch out of!

Winnie & Walter Leading Lady - Aug Week 2 - Card 3 Closeup

For the background, I used the Scenery: Madison stencil to emboss, then added some twine. I then mounted the sketched panel. The sentiment comes from The Big, The Bold and The Happy stamp set, which I stamped in a light grey ink, then wrote over it using the pencil (to make it look sketchy, of course! πŸ˜‰ ) and then die cut using the tag die from Essentials: Lana’s Cutaways. I then adhered this to the card too.

Hope you liked these variations of the same design in these three cards! Leave a comment here for a chance to win the $30 gift certificate to the Winnie & Walter store. Winner will be announced at the end of this month.
