#678 – Winnie & Walter WCMD Celebrations

Hello! I am back with a non-scheduled post! πŸ™‚ I am joining the Winnie & Walter WCMD Challenges! πŸ™‚

I really appreciate the Winnie & Walter team for having these wonderful set of challenges every year for World Card Making Day – such an amazing bunch of people! Thank you!! πŸ™‚

Winnie & Walter - WCMD 2017

I really enjoy joining these challenges every year, but I’ve been a bit busy lately, so my entries are becoming last minute! But I do have a bunch of cards, which I will be posting in different posts, all coming out today.. so please check them all out! πŸ™‚

Here’s the first set of cards –

I’ve made a couple of “Christmas with Owl” cards πŸ™‚ featuring the scene in day and night versions. I’ve used Winnie & Walter Scenery: Into the Woods stencil to create the background, with the owl and the rest of the elements in the scene from Winnie & Walter Happy Owlidays stamp set.

For the night version of the card, I used distress oxide inks. Since these inks can easily be layered, I had no problems using darker colors, and simply adding the inks, to create the night sky and then the trees using the stencil. No masking, nothing. Just ink layering.

Once the layer was dry, I added the snow using white acrylic paint, splattering the paint on the surface.

For the day version, I used the stencil with three different pink-ish distress inks to create the trees. I then used the Scenery: Spotted stencil to add the snow. I used a white gel pen and colored each spot on.. well, just wanted to do it like this once! πŸ˜€

For both the versions, I’ve used color pencil to color the owl, the branch and the Christmas ornaments, fuzzy cut it, then adhered it on the card using foam tape. The sentiment is stamped using black versamark ink.

I am joining the Stencilled Challenge by Kate, Lovely Layers Challenge by Keren and Variations Challenge by Shay

Thank you so much for stopping by! πŸ™‚
