Hello! I had this stamp that I especially bought for the Christmas season – Christmas Flower from Stamplorations. Need I say more? This large poinsettia is just perfect for quite a few techniques. I made a couple of cards using this pretty stamp (showing another one tomorrow).
For my first card, I chose embossing with watercoloring. And since I hadn’t used my Zig brush pens for quite some time now, I thought this was a very good reason to do so! π
I used a watercolor panel and heat embossed the poinsettia in gold. I then did some quick watercoloring using my Zig brush pens. I love them for the depth and the richness of the colors they provide. Of course, I did use another brush and plain water for spreading the color, I did want some lighter shades in the image too!
Anyway, once done, I trimmed the panel to size, and also fussy cut out one side of the poinsettia. I then added the sentiment from Paper Trey Ink ‘Tis the Season stamp set, and foam mounted the panel on a brown card base.
I’m also joining the following challenges with my card –
