PE: Caught by Altenew!! Yay!!
Hello! After trying to use my color pencils on a non-white card base for so long, and every time obtaining unsatisfactory results, I was finally able to get something satisfactory. The problem with for me was that the card base color would always end up showing through little dots, no matter how much I tried. Trying to cover it by added more strokes just never worked, and I started wondering if it was my fault or the paper’s!!
This time, I first stamped the image in dye ink before coloring. This, I found, somehow helped spread the pencil coloring better. Not sure how; maybe it was only this cardstock; but it did. Now, these images are solid, and I don’t think I can use the same trick on any the image I want to color (when they are outline images).
The images are from Altenew Lacy Scrolls, which I colored using Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. Once I was done coloring, I trimmed the gray panel and added a few scored lines in the background. I then adhered it over a black card base, and added the sentiment, from Altenew Label Love along with a few black gems.
I am joining the following challenges with this card –
