#741 – Seize the Birthday: Birds

Hello! Posting after a long gap – I’ve been a bit busy off line, and haven’t made much during this past week. But, since it is time for another challenge at Seize the Birthday, I did take out some time to make a quick card. The topping this time is ‘Birds’. Since the topping is optional, you are completely free to not use it, and make a birthday project with any theme at all, to join us!

And here’s the card I made –

One of those cards, which turn out quite different from my plan. Of course, when I started, I didn’t have anything in my mind except for which stamp set I was going to use! The idea was to have even more birds in the card, but with the scene around the birds looking so busy, I wasn’t able to add more.

The birds, the tree and clouds came from My Favorite Things Things with Wings stamp set. The little shrubbery in front came from a combination of many stamps from different companies, I just stamped them however I liked. I tried using a water reactive ink to stamp the images in this – I used Adirondack Ginger ink. I then colored everything using Gansai Tambi watercolors. Once everything was dry, I stamped the sentiment from the same MFT stamp set. I then tore off the upper and lower edges and mounted it on a dark brown card base, on which I had already stamped a plaid background using the MFT Plaid Background Builder stamp set.

Hop over to the Seize the Birthday challenge blog, where you can see much more inspiration from our wonderful DT and our very talented Surprise Party Guest, Kimberly Lackenbach!

And thank you so much for stopping by! 🙂

  1. This is a work of ART Ashwini! You said it was quick! It doesn’t appear quick at all! Love the forest floor and those cute little owls! Fantastic job once again!
