#743 – A Vintage Hello

Hello! Here’s a card I made to say hello to a dear blogging friend, Pooja. I had already sent it to her.. like six months ago… and totally forgot to post about it..

I hadn’t started with any particular idea, just though of doing some no line watercoloring with flowers. I chose a combination of images from a couple of Honey Bee Stamps – Zen Bouquet and Zem Floral. After stamping out the basic design in a light color, I watercolored them using distress inks. The colors inadvertently turned out to be a vintage style.

Once done, I trimmed the panel. It was pretty big, and I didn’t want to trim too much, so I ended up with a piece totally different from the standard size. I also distressed the sides a bit, to enhance the vintage feel.

Anyway, I adhered this over an off-white cardstock. The sentiment comes from Memory Box Hello Script die, which I stacked a few times before adhering it on the watercolor panel. I also added a couple of lines in gold using my Uniball gold gel pen, both on the watercolor panel and just outside it, as a sort of a frame and added accent.
