Hello and welcome! We are starting a new challenge this week at Seize the Birthday challenge, and the topping this time is ‘Water’.
Its a pretty clean and simple card from me this time… I did try to make something using alcohol inks, then distress inks, then with gel press and acrylic paints – but absolutely none of them worked for me. I just gave up, and finally made this card. I am happy with this card as of now, so all those failed pieces might be turned into other cards some other time.
Anyway, coming back to the card – I stamped the waterhole and the pelicans from Reverse Confetti Think Pink in Versafine black ink and colored them using Polychromos color pencils. I then fussy cut them. For the background, I used Neat & Tangled Rice Paddies stencil to gently blend in Tumbled Glass ink and then die cut the panel using Neat & Tangled Scalloped die. I adhered this on a blue card base. Then, after adhering the pelicans and the waterhole the top panel, I added the sentiment, which is a mix of Simon Says Stamp Thoughtful Messages and Winnie & Walter Sentimental: Birthday stamps. I cut off one side at an angle and added a dashed line at the other end before foam mounting it on the card.
With this card I am joining the following challenges –
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Wild Things
A2Z Scrapbooking August challenge: Anything Goes
I hope it serves as an inspiration to you! To join the challenge party, you can either go with the topping ‘Water’ or even choose to go without it – just as long as you make a birthday project! Check out the Seize the Birthday blog for more amazing inspiration from our talented team and our talented Surprise Party Guest, Trina Pham!
