#795 – Floral Die Cuts

Hello and welcome! Time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday! This time, we have a the optional Topping ‘Die Cuts or Punches’. Of course, there’s also the option of Anything Goes, as always, which means you can join us with a birthday project which uses die cuts/punches… or with a birthday project without it. Your choice!

And here’s what I created –

2018-09-09(1a-logo)

I was mesmerized by this background that Miriam Pratner had created on her card. I used my cheap watercolors to make my background similarly, just using different tones. Once dry, I added a few black splatters and then adhered stacked die cuts from Penny Black Playful Posies. The sentiment (both die cut and stamped) is from Paper Trey Ink Wet Paint & Wet Paint 3. Add a few little pearls for embellishing, and that finished the card!

With this card, I am joining the following challenges –

  1. WOW!! Ashwini, your background is gorgeous and just perfect for your little and delicate flowers.
Love the die cut sentiment, beautiful font.

  2. You have passed on that mesmerizing background to us Ashwini! I must give this a try whenever I get back to card making. It looks incredible! Those flowers appear to be dancing! Great job once again! Have a wonderful day!

    • Isn’t that a great background, Nancy – really easy to make but makes such a wonderful impact! I want to use it again too – and see how you’ll use it yourself too! 🙂

  3. Awesome background Ashwini, and I love your use of silhouette die cuts over it. I have silhouette dies that I never use, so I am pinning this for future inspiration!

  4. I love the beautiful backdrop to your die cut florals. Can you believe I have not used this die yet, even though I’ve had it for a while? I was in awe with Miriam’s background, but really like your spin on it as well.

    • Oh, I have had this die for a long time too! I am actually trying to use my older stamps and dies – and that’s the reason you see it on the card!! Hopefully, your’s will come out soon too!! 🙂

  5. I love the colorful stripes you’ve created for your background!!! And the black splatters!!! I’m always in awe of the black splatters people make! They look so gorgeous! It was great to see your card on The Flower Challenge gallery again! Thank you <3!
