Hello and welcome!
With the start of the new year, my sister and I decided to start with our own little challenge. Just the two of us, creating something (not necessarily a card!) based on something to inspire us. We thought to make this more or less monthly – time limits are not set in stone, since this is supposed to be something fun and creative for us.
We are calling it “Inspiration Station”!
So the first challenge has this beautiful moodboard for our inspiration –
I went with a card this time (sigh…will I ever make something else?!?), but maybe I’ll switch it up the next time..
I got inspired by the mesmerizing mixture of the colors – blue, violet, indigo – so pretty! And the zig zag at the bottom right, and the beautiful delicate pink blossoms.
To made the card, I just chose shades of the blue, violet, indigo and stamped the background using WPlus9 Backgrounds and Borders 1 stamp. A little bit of white shows through the stamping, which I wondered if I should cover up with some distress ink blending, but then decided to leave it as is. I die cut this using SSS Stitched Rectangles die, and foam mounted it on the white card base.
The flowers are from Spellbinders Nordic Bloom, which I die cut several of, stacked and blended a baby pink on the edges. The sentiment comes from Lil Inker Designs Really Rosemaling stamp.
Here’s where you can check out what my sister has made. It’s not a card and I totally love it!!
We’ll have the post up for the next challenge in Feb sometime. Thank you so much for stopping by! 🙂

Love it, and I can totally see elements of the mood board showing through! The subtle shading of the flowers contrasts very well with the ‘harsher’ lines of the background.
Can’t wait to see what you’ll do this month. 🙂
Thank you so much sis! I am equally impressed by what you’ve created – it looks store bought!! Can’t wait to see what you create next month too!
It’s a rather unusual moodboardfor me;) Haven’t worked with these colors ..it’s a challenge ! I totally love how you have made the BG ,leaving the whites was good idea and those die-cuts look interesting !! All in all a Fab card 🙂
Thank you so much Pooja! So glad you like it so much! I had somehow got an idea of what to make as soon as I saw the moodboard, but the challenge this time is not so easy… I am still thinking!
