Hello and welcome to the second Inspiration Station challenge. This is something my sister and I started, just as another reason to create, another way to get inspired, but, of course, without the pressure!
The second inspiration are pictures of Electroformed Crystal Bowls, which we found at the website, This is Colossal.
And this is what I made –
I took my inspiration from the picture in the center, and the colors too, of course. I didn’t get an idea of adding the crackle texture on my card, instead I added the foam mounted background die cut, by coloring them in similar colors. The flowers, I colored in the two shades of blue – but it looks like a single color in the images here. I added a single silver gemstone in the center of each flower after adhering them on the card.
Then came the sentiment. I swiped the colors using a cream chalk ink on a pale yellow cardstock, then swiped a gold pigment ink pad to create stripes and then silver pigment ink pad to create some more stripes. Before this completely dried, I rubbed the ink a bit, so that it blended a bit. I used this to die cut the ‘big’ word. I stacked the die cut alphabets on kraft die cuts and added it on top of three layers of circle die cuts. I then added the small ‘thanks’ on top.
Supplies used –
Lil Inker Designs Diamond Chevron for the background die cut
Elizabeth Designs Bunch of Flowers
Reverse Confetti Lacy Scallop Circles and Itsy Bitsy Scalloped Circles behind the sentiment
Altenew Bold Alphabet dies and Winne & Walter Sentimental: Thanks for the sentiment
With this card, I am joining the following challenges –

I mentioned this already, but I really love how this card reminds me of mini basket gardens! I like the similarities between our projects this time – from the two shades of blue to the lack of crackled texture. 😉
And I agree too! 😀
Wow Ashwini !! The diecuts looks like chipboard I initially thought it to be chipboard embellishment !! Beautiful card..I loved how you have drawn inspiration ,it’s a floral card but very different style !
Thank you so much Pooja! It does look different, doesn’t it! It looks like a mix of what would be defined as masculine and what would be defined as feminine. But I like that they look well together, even with that! 😀
I love how you both had completely different outcomes, while being inspired by the same things. Wonderful.
So sweet of you, Ardys! Thank you!
It’s nice to see how different your results are from Anita’s! A new follower here from one of the Challengees over at Art Elements! Alysen
Thank you so much Alysen! Its nice to see the different results we get, for us too! 🙂
Wow! This is amazing Ashwini!! xx
Thank you Cheryll!
What fabulous inspiration you had, Ashwini. Your card has so much wonderful color and texture. I think it’s difficult to photograph dark blues and purples but the flowers still look lovely. I’m so glad you shared your creative card with us at The Flower Challenge.
Thank you so much Bobby! I am glad I was able to create this!!
