Hello and welcome! Today my and my sister are playing another round of Inspiration Station challenge. Its our 4th challenge, and you can checkout the previous ones here, here and here.
This time, my sister was the one to choose the theme. She chose ‘green‘, ‘stripes‘ and ‘polka dots‘. And here’s what I came up with –
I had trouble coming up with something. When I make cards, I usually think of the focus and then think what I want surrounding it. But that wasn’t working this time, so I switched my thinking. I just made the backgrounds first, and then came up with the rest of the card. That made the process a little easier this time.
The background is made of two different components –
I made then polka dotted background by using Simon Says Stamp Seeing Spots stencil on brown cardstock, pounced Versamark sticky ink on top, then used Rose Gold embossing powder and heat embossed it.
For the stripy background, I used Winnie & Walter Scenery: Stripes to stamp many stripes of various shades of green ink.
I then trimmed die cut the striped background, right in the center with Memory Box Flutter Vine, cut the remaining piece diagonally, replaced the diecut negative with a fresh piece of white die cut and finally foam mounted it on the polka dotted one.
I also die cut another piece of Memory Box Flutter Vine and a few pieces of leaves from the Pinkfresh Studio Dainty Blossoms, painted them in shades of green. Once dry, I adhered them over the die cut. Finally came the sentiment – two pieces of die cuts from Simon Says Stamp Big Thanks dies and the stamped portion from Altenew Adore You stamp set.
Checkout what my sister has created for this challenge right here! Some beautiful textures, that I absolutely love (wish I could create something like that to use in my cards… or maybe I’ll just steal the ones she made for myself!! :P)
With this card, I am joining the following challenges –
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Anything Goes
Stamplorations June Mixed Media challenge
Thank you so much for stopping by! π

Love that the theme really challenged us, and love what we made! (Now we know how to create challenging challenges – use random words, lol…) Looking forward to what you come up with for our next run.

Very pretty and wonderful card for the theme. I like that quote too. Well done!
Thank you so much E.C.!
I like how you did the polka dotted panel in a complimentary color from the die cut greens. It really brings them into focus. Thanks for sharing with STAMPlorations mixed media challenge.
Thank you so much MariLynn!!
Beautiful card! Thanks for playing along with us at STAMPlorations this month!
