#830 – Seize The Birthday: Flowers

PE: Winner at Winnie & Walter Color Combo challenge!!

Hello! I totally forgot to write my post for the Seize the Birthday challenge. 😦 But better late than never!! πŸ™‚ So the topping for the new challenge, given by Vicki, is to use Flowers. Of course, the topping is optional, and as long as your project is birthday-related, it’s worthy of entry.

Seize The Birthday - Anything Goes

Here’s the card I made –

I started with the florals. I used Winnie & Walter In Bloom: Ashlees Rosie Posies with Lydia Evans, stamping the outline in black ink, and once I finished stamping the colored layers, I used a black pen to thicken some of the lines. I then used Neat & Tangled Scalloped die to diecut the panel. I wanted to mount this on a grey panel, but I didn’t have the right color. So I used my Zig brush marker to color a white card panel and trimmed it to size to use it for base. I mounted this on a white card base.

For the sentiment, I used Scripty Sentiments from The Stamp Market, stamped it in grey ink; the other piece of the sentiment comes from Winnie & Walter Sentimental: Birthday. I then fuzzy cut it. Both pieces are foam mounted on the floral panel.

I am joining the following challenges with my card –

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge: Anything Goes

SSS - Wednesday Challenge

Winnie & Walter June/July Color Combo challenge with Heather

A2Z Scrapbooking challenge: August challenge: Birthday

Do remember to check up on the Seize the Birthday blog for more “colorful” inspiration from the rest of our design team and of course, from our talented Surprise Guest Su Mohr! And, of course, join us using your own birthday project!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

  1. The colors are really lovely!!! The scalloped edge makes the card so much cuter and DIY gray panel works fabulously as contrast!
