Hello and welcome to another challenge at Seize the Birthday challenge! This time, we have the topping given to us by Glenda as ‘Square card’. The topping is optional, so you can choose to just join us with any Birthday project of your choice!
And here’s what I made –
I tried making something different since this was also a card for my Papa! And so, made a Interlocking Gatefold card (wonderful tutorial by Jennifer McGuire!).
I started with a 12×12 white cardstock, which I trimmed in half, then scored at 3″ and 9″. To keep the card folded, while stamping, I then folded the sides by first adding a masking tape in the center. Then, I stamped all my images using a dark grey ink and then stamped the rest of the layers excepting the solid layer.
For some additional bling, I added some clear sparkle embossing powder, in the center of the flowers. For some additional bling, I added some clear sparkle embossing powder, in the center of the flowers.
Keeping this aside, I used Memory Box Rectangle Basics and cut out the frame and the panel for the sentiment, using silver mirror cardstock and white cardstock. I also cut out three more pieces of same. Finally, I stamped the sentiment, from Paper Trey Ink Wet Paint 3 in Versamark Watermark ink and heat embossed them three times in silver. I then adhered the layers all together, and then adhered half of the pieces to opposite sides of the card.
I made the envelope using patterned paper, on which I stamped ‘Dear Papa Its Your Birthday’ using MFT Birdie Brown’s Alphabets and Numbers black ink, which I’ve not shown in any of the images :P.
