#836 – Kiss Kiss Birthday Fish

Hello and welcome to yet another challenge at Seize the Birthday! The challenge is all about making birthday projects, and you can choose to go with the topping, or, since it is optional, you can also go without it. This time, we have a new topping, ‘For Kids’, selected by Lindsey.

Seize The Birthday - The Toppings

Seize The Birthday - Anything Goes

And here’s what I made –

I started with making the background, or the water for the fishes. I used two pieces of watercolor paper, applied the watercolors and left it to dry. Once dry, I used MFT Ocean Waves die to cut out pieces of the waves. For adhering these waves, I added foam tape on the tip of the waves and glued the bottom of the waves directly to the white card base.

Meanwhile, I stamped the fish and the water plants from the MFT Gill Friends using a light grey ink and then used Polychromos pencils for coloring the them. I then fussy cut them. On the card, I used foam tape on some and directly adhered the others.

For the sentiment, I die cut a mint colored cardstock using Winnie & Walter’s Sketchy Thoughts and then stamped the sentiment, from MFT Gill Friends. I foam mounted this on the card base. And that’s my card!

  2. Love your pencil coloring on the fishes which is showing the texture of the paper! It’s awesome!
And the little recipient will love the rainbow waves 🙂 !

  3. Awesome card Ashwini, your colouring is fabulous and that wavy background looks so good! Love how colourful this sea scene is, Cathy x

  4. This is amazing! I love everything about it – the scene, the colours, the colouring, the theme. Such a wonderful card – you are so talented.

  5. This is an adorable underwater scene, Ashwini! You are now a full paper oceanographer without any restrictions :). The gorgeous coloring on the waves looks like reflections in the water… but I guess you know that :). As always, wonderful coloring!
