Hello and welcome! Funny how I make cards, but then forget about posting about them! This is one card I made for my Ma’s birthday – which was in May – and I only just remembered about it now! He he! 😀 Well, since Ma loves flowers, especially roses, I can say she was happy with the card. 🙂
I dunno – do you think its a bit overly done.. so many flower pieces, stamping, then sequins.. I hadn’t thought so then, but somehow getting that feeling now, looking at it after a couple of months… Well, never mind now! 😉
So, this is a three-fold card. I die cut a window on the top panel, through which the sentiment peeks through, using My Favorite Things Elegant Rectangle die. The sentiment, from Simon Says Stamp Big Birthday Greetings, I stamped with black ink on the second panel. I then stamped the leaves from Altenew Floral Shadow in two shades of grey, using my Misti to stamp them in the same place and color on the inner and outer panels.
Setting this aside, I worked on the flowers and leaves. I used Altenew Rose Flurries to die cut each piece using watercolor paper and adhere them. I then watercolored them, taking care to get variance in the shades for each layer. This was, I think easier for me, than to color each piece and then adhere them. I also die cut a frame using the same die and colored that too.
Finally, I adhered the frame, and all the pieces of flowers and leaves. For embellishing, I used a few pieces of sequins, and then also added some shimmer on the flowers and the frame using Spectrum Noir clear sparkle brush pen. And that finished the card.
With this card, I am joining the following challenges –

Your watercoloring is always gorgeous, Ashwini, and I love how the beauty of your design goes from the front panel to the inside panel with pretty leaves, a few flowers, and a bold sediment! It’s a beautiful card ❤ and your coloring is spot on as always. I like how the stamping forms background textures on the cover and frames the sentiment so well in the inner panel.
