#907 – STB: Sparkle and Shine

PE: Outstanding at Virginia’s Show and Share challenge!!

Virginia's Show and Share - Winner

Hello and welcome! We have a great new challenge starting today over at Seize the Birthday. Its the last challenge for this year, and the topping is something that is just perfect for a birthday. Suggested by our lovely team mate Cathy – “Sparkle & Shine‘. Of course, if that doesn’t suit your mood, go ahead and create a birthday project using anything you want – the “Anything Goes” option is always there! πŸ˜€

So for my card, since it had been so long, I focused on simple stamping, without any special techniques but added some sparkle for the sentiment and then embellishing. Here’s what I made –

Birthday Wishes with Colored Foil

I used the stamps from Reverse Confetti Blooms n Buds stamp set around the edges of a white card panel. Once done, I trimmed it on the wider edges, then adhered it over a light brown cardstock.

For the sentiment I wanted to add some sparkle, so I used some foil. Of course, I don’t have that many colors in my stash, I had to improvise. So I used Copic marker – a dark orange one on a silver foil. This isn’t end up with an even color, but that didn’t matter much, since I was die cut would have thin lettering. I die cut this using My Favorite Things Birthday Wishes die, and some more pieces, which I adhered together, and then adhered to the cardstock.

Finally, I added a few dots of glittery gold Nuvo drops here and there for some extra subtly shimmer.

And that completes my card! I’m joining the following challenges with it –

The Flower Challenge #50: Use a Sentiment

Retro Rubber challenge #148: They Said It’s Your Birthday (my old stamp is the Reverse Confetti Blooms n Buds, which is from the 2016 release)
