#917 – Just Because…

Hello and welcome! We’ve already moved past the first month the year! And that means, we have a set of new challenges starting up at Happy Little Stampers. The very first being Watercolor challenge, and again we have the Anything Goes theme.

Happy Little Stampers - Watercolor Challenge - Anything Goes

And this is my inspiration for you –

I had this one piece of die cut, watercolored flower leftover from a previous project. Thinking of using it in another one, I ended up with multiple pieces, and then pick and chose a few to make this card.

The die cut pieces are from multiple dies and companies – I used Pink Fresh Studio Dainty Blossoms, Memory Box Flutter Vine and Memory Box Prim Poppy. After die cutting, I watercolored these pieces using Gansai Tambi watercolors and let them dry.

I then trimmed a piece of CrafTangles Vintage Jounal Decoupage Paper and adhered it on top of grey cardstock, covering it completely. I then adhered the flowers and leaves on top. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things Well, Hello. I had a strip of leftover cardstock from another die cutting, with that stitched edge on top. I stamped the sentiment on that with black ink.

Before foam mounting it on the card, I added a length of looped silver string and placed it below the sentiment strip. Its barely visible, but makes its presence known just enough. πŸ™‚

And that’s my card! To get more inspiration, check out the Happy Little Stampers challenge blog. And stay tuned for the other challenges starting over the next few days too.

Thank you so much for stopping by! πŸ™‚

  1. This is beautiful, love the idea of watercoloring the diecuts. I haven’t tried it yet. Good to see you on the DT, I didn’t see until now, looks like I missed last month’s post!

  2. Hi Ashwini! What a beautiful card… of course I LOVE the Vintage Decoupage Paper, in case you ask :). Just love the text and contrast with the vibrant flowers, it means Spring is coming, right?
    Hugs,
    Cris
