#925 – With Sympathy

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Tic-Tac-Toe! The board this time is designed by JoAnne, and the theme is Spring/Easter/Sympathy –

I chose the mid column – Die-cut – Flower – Colouring and here’s what I made –

I started with the flower, stem and leaves, which are from My Favorite Things Fancy Flowers stamp set, and stamped the images with VersaFine black ink and colored them with Zig Brush Markers, along with the blender to blend and dilute the colors. I also used a white marker to add a few details to the flowers and leaves. Finally, I cut the images close to the outline of each image, and used the black marker to color the side of the paper – giving the cut out pieces a more ‘finished’ look.

For the background, I used a mix of Black Soot and Hickory Smoke distress inks over Hero Arts Graph stamp. Distress inks are the best to get that messily stamped look! I then trimmed the panel a bit and foam mounted it on a white card base. I also foam mounted my floral image on top.

The sentiment is from Reverse Confetti Tall Blooms. I then die cut this using Slanted Sentiment Strips and also used Stitched Snowdrifts on one edge to get the stitching. This too, I foam mounted on the card.

And that finishes my card! Step over to the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge blog to see more inspiration from the rest of the DT!

  1. Wonderful vibrant colours and brilliant painting, as usual. I think I have that flower stamp and haven’t really used it much, so I just might take inspiration from you. That’s a great idea for the background too xx

  2. Ashwini I love your bright modern flower and it looks fabulously with the artsy grid background. Beautiful!
