#930 – Squares

Hello and welcome! We have a new challenge at the Seize the Birthday challenge and the topping this time, chosen by JoAnn is Squares. Of course, the topping is optional and as long as your project is birthday-related, it’s worthy of entry.

And here’s what I made –

I used the Spellbinders Kaleidoscope Tile for my card.. and do I love it! I used a shade of cream, light brown and pink to die cut 4 sets of pieces, adhered them. I initially thought of adding this directly on a white card base, but then changed my plan. I used the My Favorite Things Pinking Edge Rectangle and partially die cut a piece of square using the largest die. I adhered the tiles on this piece and then adhered this on a light brown card base.

For the sentiment, I used Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers and heat embossed it in gold on a white card strip. I then trimmed the sides to size and added a couple of pieces of scrap cardstock behind it to get some dimension.

And that finished my card! Truly simple to make, but very impactful! I think the hardest part was choosing the colors!! 😀

  3. I could just stare at this card forever! You are so creative as Barb already mentioned! I adore the color palette and the edging I do believe took this card to the next level! Well done!

  4. The color choice was brilliant, Ashwini! Love the warmth and elegance of them together! Great design with many squares 😄!!!

  5. This is sooooo beautiful! The colours are soft but striking – I have been so tempted with these layered dies – and when I see stunning cards like your, it’s hard to resist.
