PE: Top Pick at Retro Rubber challenge!!

Hello and welcome! We are starting a new challenge at Seize the Birthday today, and the topping this time, chosen by TaeEun is Spring Flowers. Of course, anytime is ‘Anything Goes’ too, as long as it’s a birthday theme.
And this is what I created –
I started with the flowers and leaves from various Altenew stamps – Beautiful Day, Garden Treasure and Peony Bouquet. After stamping them in VersaFine Onyx black ink, I used die inks to stamp the colors as well. For the smallest flowers, since there wasn’t any stamps to fill them in, I used Zig brush markers to color them. I then fussy cut these pieces out.
For the base, I used Time Holtz-Sizzix Lumber 3D Texture Fades embossing folder. I first pressed a couple of light grey dye inks on the folder and then placed the paper in before cranking it though my embossing machine. For the result, the depth of the grooves on the lumber look deeper, which is what I was aiming for. I adhered this layer on my card base and then foam mounted the flowers and leaves. For the sentiment, I used one from Simon Says Stamp Birthday Bits stamp. I fussy cut this one also and then foam mounted it on the card too. I thought of adding some sequins or pearls for embellishing, but then decided against it.
And that’s my card! I’m joining the following challenges with it –
Inspired By challenge #170: Wrap Me Up In Spring

Retro Rubber Challenge #156: Pastels (using older stamps from Altenew stamps – released during 2015-16)
The Flower Challenge #55: Pretty Pastels

Addicted to Stamps and More #403: Birthdays

Hop over to the Seize the Birthday blog to see some fantastic inspiration from Lynda, our Surprise Party Guest and of course, all of our inspiring design team! And don’t forget to join the fun!
