#936 – Watercoloing Scenes

Hello and welcome! With the start of a new month, we have the start of a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers Watercolor challenge. As always, the theme is Anything Goes, so as long as your creation has some sort of coloring using water in it, you can join.

Happy Little Stampers - Watercolor Challenge - Anything Goes

For this month, instead of my usual cards, I have these experiments in watercoloring. I had tried making some ‘scene’s, some inspired by Sandy Allnock‘s creations, and some by images from Pinterest. These were actually created by me late last year, but I only got around to editing the images now, and thought it an ideal time to post them. πŸ™‚

I’ve used Gansai Tambi watercolors and watercolor paper from Hndmd/CrafTangles. On this first piece, I used a critter from Mama Elephant Three Amigos. I tried a snow forest scene, with the lights coming out of the woods in rainbow colors, but somehow the rest of the colors got lost and the majority became reddish with a tint of yellow behind the critter.. which in turn looks like the sun’s glow, making the shadow all wrong. 😦 But this scene was fun to make, and a good practice as well!

This is, I think, a most commonly used scene. A bunch of trees on a lake or river bank. I used made the scene monochromatic and CAS. Painting the reflection on the water could use some more work. However, I did have fun creating the trees. πŸ™‚

For this last one, I first drew the bridge and banks, and then used a kitty from Pink & Main’s Catitude stamp set, then drew the balloons. Now that I look at it, the kitty has no shadow, though I’ve painted the shadow for the bridge’s railings!! Silly me! πŸ™‚

Hope you enjoyed the scenes that I painted-experimented on. I haven’t been to much painting so far this year, but I’m sure to get some more soon. πŸ™‚ Do hop by the Happy Little Stampers blog to look at what the rest of the design team has created.

Thank you so much for stopping by!
