#952 – Metallic Background

Hello and welcomo! We have a new challenge up at Tic Tac Toe and following a new theme ‘Summer Entertaining/Weddings‘, I have prepared this board for you –

While somehow getting confused about what to make – I actually had a pretty tough time – I somehow ended up incorporating two lines, the mid row and the mid column, plus silver/gold for a little extra!

Wanting to use some colored cardstock , I had initially chosen a light pink and then a beige color. But I then decided to do something different, and chose this baby blue textured cardstock. I then stamped the entire panel with flower cluster images from Reverse Confetti Banner in Bloom with Versamark Watermark ink and then heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. I then colored them using Gansai Tambi Starry Colors.

Moving to the focal point, I die cut the hearts from an off-white cardstock and the same baby blue textured cardstock using Winnie & Walter True Dotty Heart dies and adhered them. I then stamped the same two flower clusters in black, colored them using Zig brush markers and fussy cut them out. Next, fro the banner sentiment, I stamped the banner from the same stamp set in light blue and the sentiment from WPlus9 Basic Banners in black and then fussy cut that also. I then layered these pieces and adhered them together, finally adhering it on top of the blue metallic background panel.

I trimmed the blue panel a bit. I then cut out two strips of the off-white cardstock and used partial die cutting with My Favorite Things Blueprints 27 die to get a couple of long scalloped strips. I adhered these behind the blue metallic panel and then adhered them to the cardbase. For embellishing, I used a few off-white helf-pearls.

And that finished my card! Checkout the Tic Tac Toe challenge page for more wonderful inspiration from the rest of the DT.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

  1. I feel your pain getting this to come together, I am currently struggling with a DT card, but it was worth it as the result is simply stunning. That background is amazing and I bet it looks fabulous in real life. I love the heart and flowers too and your finishing touch of the scalloped edge is wonderful. The whole thing comes together perfectly so it was well worth the pain. For me I think I am going to have to start again! xx

  2. Oh that’s an interesting background ,I don’t know ow of I would have the patience to do all that embossing though, I am lazy nowadays. I don’t the coloring part though🤭
