#962 – STB: By The Sea

Hello and welcome! We have a new challenge at Seize the Birthday challenge and the Topping this time, chosen by our dear leader Nancy, is ‘By the Sea‘!

And here’s what I made –

I used Simon Says Stamp Sea and Sky, my latest addition to my stash, in this card. It creates such a beautiful scene with minimal effort! I used Distress Oxide Inks for the sky, to make it easier to blend the colors I wanted – yellow to pink and pink to blues – so effortless! And then stamped the water with distress ink, misted with water, used a brush to spread the color, then once dried, I stamped it with Oxide inks again – I wanted a reflection of the colors on the sky. Finally the sand – more distress ink, with a more liberal spritz of water. The shell and starfish are from Simon Says Stamp Be A Mermaid, which I stamped in grey inks and colored with a mix of Distress Inks and Zig Brush marker pens.

So, this card actually has a lot of media, though they all involve water!! 😀

To finish the card, I trimmed the panel to size, foam mounted it on a white card base. Then I added the sentiment, from My Favorite Things Friendly Foxes, on a strip of white cardstock, cut it down, to adhere it using foam tape.

And that’s it! The most quick and easy card I’ve made! 🙂 And I’m joining the following challenges with it –
