#1024 – STB: CASE a Seize the Birthday Designer

Hello and welcome! This is the last time of the year at Seize the Birthday challenge. It’s always ‘Anything Goes‘ challenge with an optional Topping. It’s Barbara‘s turn to choose the Topping and she chose to ‘CASE a Seize the Birthday Designer‘.

And here’s what I made –

I CASEd this card from Shirley. She had made such an amazing card – those colors on the ice cream are so awesome!! Scrumptious!! I just had to CASE this! 🙂

I used watercolors on my card instead of pencils/markers. I picked the same colors and swapped the ice cream cone to Simon Says Stamp Soft Serve Cone Wafer. I die cut the pieces from watercolor paper and then watercolored them using Gansai Tambi. Once it was dry, I added splatters of the same color, but darker, and let all the pieces dry completely. Once dry, I adhered the pieces together

For the background, I watercolored a panel of watercolor paper with a pale green and added splatters of water to get some texture and color variegation. After it dried, I trimmed the panel and embossed it using We R Memory Keepers Geometric embossing folder and adhered it to the card base.

For the sentiment, I cut a piece of pink cardstock using the Winnie & Walter In a Word: Happy die and I chose the sentiment from Concord & 9th Cuddles & Hugs stamp set, heat embossed it in white on kraft card stock and curved the sides using a punch. I then assembled the card and added a bunch of enamel dots using the Nuvo Drops in white and buttercream colors.

And that finished my card! Thanks to Barbara for giving this awesome chance and to Shirley for the inspiration!!

Do stop by the Seize the Birthday challenge blog to find who CASEd whom and more inspiration from the team and our Surprise Party Guest Åsa Johansson! And don’t forget to join this last party of the year!

Thank you so much for stopping by! 🙂

  1. I am glad that you had fun with this challenge. I love your fruity and fresh looking ice cream cone. A great CASE and glad that you gave the cone center attention on this birthday card.

  2. You had me at ice cream! A fantastic case of Shirley for sure! I love how colorful your card is, Aswini! Well done!

  3. Oh, wow! This is a fabulous CASE of my card, Ashwini! I adore the splattery colours of the ice cream and the cone, and the subtler nod to the textured background. Thanks for CASEing me, I’m honoured!
