#931 – Floral Hugs

Hello and welcome! Its time for a new challenge at Tic Tac Toe challenge. This time the theme is Mom/Feminine/Encouraging and the board, created by Felicita this time is –

And here’s what I made –

I started from the background. I recently got into making patterns using a gelly plate and so I thought of making a clean background as well. I used distress inks and dabbed of some color here and there using a tissue paper, to get a sort of wispy pattern.

I cut out the flower base layers using pattern papers, which I adhered on some cardstock for strength. I then adhered this to the outline die cut layer which I cut out using white card stock.

I adhered a middle layer, which is a black and white pattern paper with pretty flowers printed on it, on the blue card base, and then adhered the flowers and leaves on it. Finally the sentiment, which is a SSS+CZ Design product – I cut out a few layers of them and adhered them together and assembled it on the card too.

#927 – Here For You

Hello and welcome! We have a new challenge at Tic Tac Toe challenge, the theme of Spring/Easter/Sympathy continues and this time LeAnne has created for us a new board –

I used the last column of Leaves/Tree – Green – Die cut and made this card –

To start with, I first watercolored a shiny background on watercolor paper using Gansai Tambi Starry Nights watercolors. I then added a few splatters of brown, once the paint dried. Once that too dried, I die cut the panel using Winnie & Walter Essentials: Lana Cutaways. I foam mounted this on a kraft card base.

I heat embossed the wreath from Pink Fresh Studio Delicate Wreath using Verdigris embossing powder. This gave it a beautiful metallic finish. I then fussy cut the wreath and foam mounted it on the card. I then die cut the sentiment using Altenew Essential Sentiment Strips from kraft cardstock. I cut out a couple of pieces more and adhered them to the kraft die cut to give it some dimension and adhered this over the card. I also added a couple of bird wood veneers from Studio Calico, to finish my card.

#925 – With Sympathy

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Tic-Tac-Toe! The board this time is designed by JoAnne, and the theme is Spring/Easter/Sympathy –

I chose the mid column – Die-cut – Flower – Colouring and here’s what I made –

I started with the flower, stem and leaves, which are from My Favorite Things Fancy Flowers stamp set, and stamped the images with VersaFine black ink and colored them with Zig Brush Markers, along with the blender to blend and dilute the colors. I also used a white marker to add a few details to the flowers and leaves. Finally, I cut the images close to the outline of each image, and used the black marker to color the side of the paper – giving the cut out pieces a more ‘finished’ look.

For the background, I used a mix of Black Soot and Hickory Smoke distress inks over Hero Arts Graph stamp. Distress inks are the best to get that messily stamped look! I then trimmed the panel a bit and foam mounted it on a white card base. I also foam mounted my floral image on top.

The sentiment is from Reverse Confetti Tall Blooms. I then die cut this using Slanted Sentiment Strips and also used Stitched Snowdrifts on one edge to get the stitching. This too, I foam mounted on the card.

And that finishes my card! Step over to the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge blog to see more inspiration from the rest of the DT!

#922 – Rose Stenciling

Hello and welcome! Its for the new challenge we have up a the Tic Tac Toe challenge. Continuing with our February theme of ‘Congrats/Thinking of You‘, we have a new board, created by Betty, for you to work with –

I am trying out a card which in which I am using a few things that I am wanting to use lately – nothing new, more like trying to use what I have. I used the diagonal from top right, including the cells Stencil – Word Die-cut – Flowers. Here’s what I made –

I started with the roses. I’ve used the stencils from CrafTreat called Roses 2 and Roses 3. These stencils help you make a rose using the layered coloring approach. The stencil set also has masks for the roses.

I used the stencils and the masks on striped texture cardstock and then fussy cut it. I then die cut a frame using white cardstock and some scrap cardstocks, which I adhered together. I then adhered the flowers and frame over a mango yellow cardstock. For the sentiment, I first cut out a few pieces of My Favorite Things Congrats die cuts, adhered them together and adhered it over the card. The stamped sentiment comes from Waffle Flower Congrats stamp set. For embellishing, I used a few half pearls.
