#719 – Glitter Sparkle Love

PE: Winner at Tic Tac Toe challenge! Can’t believe it!! 😀

Tic Tac Toe - Winner

Hello! Its been quite some time since I used glitter in my card making. I tried to combine a stencil, which I have totally not used until now, with clear glitter in this card.

Love You Always

I recently saw a few cards from Yana Smakula, where she had used a stencil in different ways. One of the ways used masking and using the stencil on different areas of the card. This is the inspiration for my card. I used the Penny Black Luster stencil with Black Soot and a combination of Antique Linen and Pumice Stone, partially coloring through the stencil around the card panel. Once done, I covered the panel with double sided tape , sprinkled a bit of black glitter over it and then poured clear glitter all over it. I then die cut the panel with a die from MFT Bluprints 27 and foam mounted it on a white card base.

Love You Always

For the sentiment, I first applied Art Alchemy Wax Brushed Iron and Lucky Emerald on a scrap piece of cardstock. I then heat embossed the sentiment, from Paper Trey Ink Wet Paint stamp set, in silver. I then fussy cut the panel and foam mounted it on the card.

#700 – Pencil Coloring

PE: Honorable Mention at Addicted to Stamps and More challenge!!

Addicted to Stamps - Honorable Mention
Hello! Finally December! Just a few days until Christmas. And even if we don’t celebrate it, seeing all the excitement among my card making friends gets me excited too! 😀 Finally, getting out of my ‘lacking mojo’ state (I’ve gotten into this state too many times this year!!), I made a critter Christmas card.

I used color pencil on drawing paper. Since I usually blend/soften the coloring, I left it as is this time. The texture of the paper and the streaks of the pencil coloring really show through a lot!

Deck the Halls

I used the images from Winnie & Walter Sweet Holiday stamp set, stamped it in my lightest grey color, then proceeded to do some no line coloring. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set. I also added some small touches of snow by adding small dots of white acrylic paint.

#698 – Sending Joy

Hello! And here’s the last of the trio of cards I had made (first one here and the second one here)..

Sending Joy

On this card too, I tried making the background using pretty, shiny acrylic paints. But instead of using foil, I used embossing powder. In fact, I thought that the embossing powder might also stick to the paper like the foil did, but no suck luck.. guess the stickiness is not as much! 😛 So, I had to use Versamark ink, as per usual.

Sending Joy

Anyway, on this card, I used Art Alchemy Metallique Mermaid Teal. This didn’t spread/apply as clearly as the Rusty Red paint, so I could see stripes of dark and light (I brushed the paint on using vertical brush strokes), but this is mostly covered by the embossing and further by the vellum. Of course, it did look pretty even otherwise, and went well with the variegated look of the Verdigris embossing powder.

Anyway, I used Neat and Tangled Rice paddies stencil along with Neat and Tangled stamps Winter Wishes and Art Deco for the scene and sentiments, with Neat and Tangled Scalloped die for diecutting the vellum panel.

#697 – Sending Warm Winter Wishes

PE: Noticed by Neat & Tangled!!

Noticed by Neat and Tangled

Hello and welcome! Here’s another Christmas card I made (along with the one I had mentioned here) –

Sending Warm Winter Wishes

I wanted the background to be a big part of the card. My thoughts were to use some kind of shine/glitter along with a diecut, but I ended up using a stencil. I do, however absolutely love how the foil ended up partially adhering, giving it an almost distressed(?) sort of look.

Well, here’s how I made it – I first covered a panel with Art Alchemy Metallique Rustic Red paint. Once it dried, I placed the stencil, then the foil on top, then dry embossed it, passing it through my Big Shot. And the foil stuck to the paint!

Acrylic paints do have a sticky nature, even when they are dry (some are stickier than others), even if we don’t really feel the stickiness through our hands. And the Art Alchemy paints had just enough stickiness for the foil to adhere to, without covering the entire surface. Of course it goes without saying that it wouldn’t stick to the stencil! 🙂

Sending Warm Winter Wishes

Well, since I had the spectacular background for the card ready, I chose the rest of elements, so that I could expose it as much as possible. I could have just gone with a big and bold sentiment die cut, but I don’t have one. Instead, I chose part heat embossed sentiment and images on vellum, and alphabet die cuts – I used Neat and Tangled Winter Wishes and Journaling Alphas die set.

Sending Warm Winter Wishes

For embellishing, I used some clear white rhinestones, adhering them in almost the same places as the stars in the Winter Wishes stamp set (I had fussy cut off that part since it was blocking too much of that pretty background! :P)

Hello! Made this card with the current Altenew challenge colors. Mostly using oranges and browns, with a splash of yellow in an otherwise earthy colored card.

I used Altenew Watercolored Wonders with distress inks. The sentiment comes from Honey Bee Stamps Brush Grunge Alpha. I added some dots using gold pearl pen.
