#664 – Little Tangles September Challenge

Hello! Its September already! And we are on to a new challenge with the Little Tangles Challenge #84 – it is ‘Add details inside card or to Create a matching envelope’ – so you do have an option there.

2017-09 Badge

For my card, I chose to go with adding details to the card’s inside. In fact, my card continues on from the card front to the inside..

Warm Winter Wishes

I used a watercolor paper for the card base and actually started with the inside of the card. I first made the watercolored sky, coloring using Zig Brush markers and a brush loaded with water. πŸ™‚ Once dry, I stamped the trees from Scandinavian Prints Christmas using distress inks and then proceeded to the card front.

Warm Winter Wishes

Once I completed coloring the sky and stamped the trees, I stamped the falling snow and also the little houses from the Winter Wishes stamp set, then finally stamped the sentiments from the same stamp set on the outside and the inside.

#657 – Altenew Inspired

PE: Caught by Altenew!! (from my Flickr account)

Altenew - Caught by Altenew

Top Pick at Inkspirational Challenge!! πŸ˜€

Inkspirational - Winner

Hello! It feels like a break, to be working on something Altenew – I purposely didn’t touch these stamps for quite some time.. I mean I used to pick up Altenew products every time I wanted to create something, even though I have tons of other products, so I thought about not touching them for some time. But finally, I am giving in… I just couldn’t resist the latest Altenew challenge anymore! Here’s what I made –

One of those cards which is quite easy to make, and looks absolutely glamourous in the end. I used Dodecagram stamp to repeatedly stamp over a watercolor panel using sticky ink, and then heat embossed it in gold. I then used Gansai Tambi watercolors to color, using lots of the pigment to get a good coverage. Once finished, I spritzed in some water again, so that the color is well immersed, blended and settled down more or less evenly. Finally, once it dried, I repeated the heat embossing, since the color had dulled a bit. This also gave it that extra good shiny look due to the double embossing.

Though my initial idea was to trim it, once I finished, I was loath to cut it down to a normal card size, so I kept it as is. I chose a dark brown card base, but it wasn’t the right color, so I blended in some Walnut Stain distress ink and layered a panel of some shiny gold paper that I have between the card base and the watercolro/heat-embossed panel. Then I foam mounted the sentiment, from Label Love, which I gold heat embossed over black card stock. I also added a few gold rhinestones for embellishing.

Absolutely in love with the beautiful colors that I achieved so easily with this. Like my sister said, it looks like one of those Persian glass artworks, albeit a little bit darker! πŸ™‚

Happy Little Stampers Watercolor Challenge Favorite!

Happy Little Stampers - Watercolour Favourite Badge

Hello and welcome to my last week as the Winnie & Walter Leading Lady! Can’t believe its already the last week!! I had so much fun making these cards and posts, wish it would last longer!!

Winnie & Walter Leading Lady Badge

For my last post, I am showcasing these cute little critters, so adorable, I just threw away any other ideas I had so I could use them on my cards! πŸ™‚

Winnie & Walter Leading Lady - Aug Week 4 - Card 1

For my first card, I used the critters from Party On. I stamped them using a brown ink, then gave them a soft watercoloring using distress inks. I did the same with the flowers. For the background, too I used distress inks. And the grassy hill/ground – I die cut that using the Party On Die, too! The sentiment comes from Happy Dance.

Winnie & Walter Leading Lady - Aug Week 4 - Card 2

For my second card, I used the critters from Happy Dance. I colored these critters using Zig brush pens. I used distress oxide ink for the background, masking each area for coloring in, added a few splotches of water, then stamped a few stars from the same stamp set, for something extra. Finally added the sentiments from Sentimental: Birthday. I then trimmed the piece, adhering it over a black card base with glitter washi tape at the side.

Winnie & Walter Leading Lady - Aug Week 4 - Card 3

For my last card, I used the critters from an older set, Happy Owlidays – the owls are just totally adorable! I watercolored the owls using distress inks, fuzzy cut them. For the background, I created a galaxy background using watercolors, then tore up half the panel and mounted it on my white card base. I then added the branch and the cute owls, and also stamped the sentiment.

Winnie & Walter Leading Lady - Aug Week 4 - All Cards

So there are the three cards together! Hope you liked them!

#612 – Mother’s Day Card

PE: Winner at Timeout Challenge!! πŸ™‚

Time Out Challenge - Winner

Bastel Traum Bronze Award Winner!!

Bastel Traum - Bronze Award

Hello! Mother’s day being just a week away, I finally completed this card for my dear Ma a couple of days ago..

Happy Mother's Day

I used Altenew Magnolias for Her stamp set.. what beautiful set of flowers! The pink and aqua colors were just meant to be used with it! πŸ™‚ I used Canson watercolor paper, over which I heat embossed the flowers using Wow! Silver Pearl embossing powder, then colored them using a mix of Zig Brush pens, adding the color, and Gansai Tambi Starry Nights White Gold for spreading the color.. it gives beautiful results so easily! I wanted to just keep painting!! πŸ˜€

Happy Mother's Day

For the sentiment, I initially thought of using the same silver pearl heat embossing, but suddenly remembered the silver foil I had with me… absolutely untouched! Glad I remembered it! πŸ™‚ I used a Zig glue pen, then added the foil when it became dry and tacky.

Finally I trimmed the card and adhered it over Fabriano Elle Erre Brina card stock.

#587 – Love & Adore You

Hello! I loved making the card last time, with flowers, made from vellum pieces stacked above each other; and thought of making another using the same idea. I also tried making it vintage, but this one ended up looking vintage-ish..hmm… but I really do love how it has turned out! πŸ˜€

Love & Adore You

I first heat embossed the heart and flowers with gold embossing powder on vellum, which I then colored using Zig brush markers. I colored the flowers underneath the vellum last time, this time, I added it on the top – any case, you’ll have to wait for it to dry anyway! πŸ˜‰ I then fussy cut them out. The sentiment, I cut from a cardstock, which I had painted with gold acrylic paint – it looks beautiful with the gold embossing – not too overpowering, but still shiny enough to stand out! πŸ™‚ I am glad I used it too! Well, I also did stack it with a few layers before adding it to the card. Assembly was mostly easy, once I knew where to place what!

Here’s the supply list:
Neat & Tangled Heart of Gold stamp

#558 – Snowflake dies – Two Ways

PE: Christmas Card Challenge Top 3!!

Christmas Challenge - Honorable Mention

Wish I could have titled that “Snowflake dies – Three Ways”, but I didn’t have time to make on more. Maybe you can check a previously made card, using the same dies here? But, here’s the second of the two ways –

I made an embossing template out of the dies and used it on my card! That’s one great substitute for embossing folder, and I love the effects it can create!

Merry Christmas

For this card, I used the same set of dies as I used previously, Simon Says Stamp More Fun Flakes, to cut out several pieces. I then adhered two of each together, to get some dimension, then adhered them on a piece of acetate I saved from packaging. I then used this as an embossing template, to get the snowflakes impressed on a watercolor panel.

I then used distress ink smooshing to gather color on the watercolor panel, then misted some water in so that it spreads. I then left it to dry, and used this panel as the background for my card.

Merry Christmas

For the rest of the card, I used Spellbinders Deckled Rectangles to cut out the frame, sentiment from Paper Trey Ink ‘Tis the Season for the sentiment, and a few more snowflakes from the same die set, one colored using distress inks, one left plain. I also added Nuvo glitter drops for embellishing.

Merry Christmas
