#452 – Easter Wishes

PE: Winner at Friday Mashup!

Hello! I just got a few new additions to my stash – this sweet little set from Mama Elephant named (so aptly) Oh Happy Birds, being one, my itchy hands couldn’t wait to make something out of them! 🙂 I was also terribly wanting to make something like this absolutely adorable card from the Waffle Flower blog. This stamp had the perfect little tiny birds for me to try the layout! Double the happiness!! 😀

The video tutorial was so helpful – I followed the steps just as Nina has shown. I drew the pencil line grid, cut out a square mask, stamped the birds using Memento Tuxedo Black and colored the background using Mustard Seed, Shaded Lilac, Spun Sugar. I then cut out the panel using My Favorite Things Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner and then stamped the sentiment using Hero Arts Fanciful Swirl and Memento Tuxedo Black.

I then cut out another panel using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles and the decorative lines from Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders. For the card base, I applied Shaded Lilac distress ink and stamped the dots from Technique Tuesday Lots of Dots using the same ink. I then adhered all the panels together using foam tape. I love how beautiful the pastel colors suit the technique so well!

Submitting this to AAA Card Challenge #60: Easter, Just Us Girls #335: Color Challenge and Friday Mashup Challenge #245 where I’ve used the theme (Easter theme or Chicks & Bunnies) and the sketch. This is the last challenge over at Friday Mashup. I haven’t played a lot of their challenges, but its always sad to see a challenge wrap up. I wish them luch in whatever endeavour they choose to go on! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

#446 – A Note of Thanks

Hello! I was actually (and still am) skeptical about publishing this card – it’s one of those cards that you are not sure about –

To make this card, I first picked Paper Trey Ink Tropical Teal, Hibiscus Burst, Berry Sorbet and Melon Berry, to add stripes of watercolor on a card panel. Once dry, I added a few splotches by dropping water on it, and dried the panel again. I then stamped the flowers from Waffle Flower In Every Way and heat embossed them in white. I then die cut one end of the panel using Spellbinders Label 24, and trimmed the panel to size.

Leaving this aside, I die cut a tag using WPlus9 Timeless Tags 2, stamped it with My Favorite Things Pinstripes using Paper Trey Ink Sweet Blush. I then stamped the sentiment from WPlus9 Basic Banners in Memento Tuxedo Black and added this to the panel using some creamish twine.

I then mounted this over a white card base. I also added three wood veneers I coated using a black glitter pen for embellishment. And that’s my card.

Submitting this to CAS(E) This Sketch #162, Friday Mashup Challenge #244: Shimmer & Shine (very little shine on my project, just on the wood veneers!) and Waffle Flower March Challenge (I used the flowers and watercolor)

A few more cards…

PE: Create Something Catchy Super Pick (that means honorable mention! :P)

Suffering from a complete loss of mojo lately – I wish it would come back, from wherever its gone holidaying!! But, in the meantime, I made a few cards from whatever my mojo left behind.. 😛

This card couldn’t get any simpler! I just cut out a panel of color paper adhered card stock, adhered a triangular panel on top on which I had scribbled using a black marker. The sentiment from Avery Elle’s Laurels is stamped in Black Soot distress ink. I then embellished it with a bow and heats die cut from wood veneer using Mama Elephant Confetti die and added white Enamel Accents on top.

The second one’s not my favorite, I must admit. 😦 The background is pattern paper and I die cut the feathers using Spelbinders Feathers die. Handwritten sentiment, and wood veneer embellishment, die cut using Mama Elephant Confetti die. …I do love the pattern paper though! 😛

For my third card, I used Salty Ocean, Worn Lipstick and Crushed Olive distress inks and did some no line watercoloring on the coffee cup from Micia Tea Time stamp set after first stamping it using Antique Linen distress ink. The talk bubble portion above is hand drawn and fuzzy cut and stencilled using Chevron Mask stencil by Studio Calico using Salty Ocean and Crushed Olive distress inks. The sentiment is handwritten.

Submitting my first card to CAS(E) This Sketch #132.
