Hello! I am back after almost a week’s break 🙂 And I have a multitude of cards lined up in posts! 🙂 Very simple card involving double stamping, stamp kissing and a bit of watercoloring 🙂 I used die-cut foam stamps for the feathers – used Spellbinders Feathers dies. I stamped the feathers using ColorBox Turquoise and Cyan and stamped the pattern using Hero Arts Tweed Pattern stamp and ColorBox Teal and Memento Teal Zeal inks. I then watercolored using ColorBox Turquoise and Cyan. The sentiment is from Just Rite Bokeh Time stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then added some small pearls as embellishment. I then stamped the flowers from Micia Butterflies In Spring, colored them using the same set of Copics. Finally stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Black Soot distress ink and added some pearls as embellishment. Submitting this card to the following challenges – Time Out Challenge #35: Nature with the Optional Twist of Animals (no animals here, thought :P) CAS Colour & Sketch Challenge #132 Color Throwdown Challenge #350 Love the fact that both are so simple cards with one layer. Love the color flow in the first and the color difference and impact in the second. 🙂 Please tell me if you liked the cards, and what you liked in them! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
Two reasons for making this card – I wanted to try the stamps in Up & Away stamp set from Mama Elephant and also no-line watercoloring. 🙂
I stamped the monkey and the balloons using Antique Linen distress ink on watercolor paper and colored the images using no line watercoloring using Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Ripe Persimmon distress inks. I then fussy cut the images. I die cut the frame using Itsy Bitsy Square framelits and stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
I fussy cut a cloud stamp from foam sheet. To make the background, I first stamped Burlap from JustRite using Hero Arts Soft Pool ink and then stamped the clouds using using Hero Arts Tide Pool ink. I am in love with this background! 🙂

I made this card for my sister’s birthday which was last week –
I had the idea of using balloons in my card, which evolved into a shaker card in the end. I used pattern paper from He Said She Said paper pad from Teresa Collins. The dies are from Balloons die set from XCut. I added some sequins and seed beads for the shaker.
The sentiment is twofold – the die is the Birthday die from Memory Box, which I watercolored before die cutting, and the stamped sentiment is from Captured stamp set from Bo Bunny, which I stamped in Turquoise pigment ink from Color Box.
The string tying the balloons are actually crochet threads dyed using Tarnished Brass Distress Paint. I just adhered them using Glossy Accents!
I usually make my own envelopes, and add something on them too – for this card, I made a stamp using a balloon from the same stamp set and stamped the balloons on. Since I wanted a gradient in each of them, I used a multitude of pastel tone inks, all from Memento – New Sprout, Summer Sky, Lulu Lavender, Angel Pink, Dandelion, Tangelo. I drew the strings and added the handwritten sentiment using a black pen.
How do you like my card? I hope my sister liked it! 😀
The color inspiration this time in Colour Me Challenge got me thinking – usually there is some sort of green involved, which easily facilitates the use of flowers. This time the case is different!
I picked up Broken China, Barn Door, Sqeezed Lemonade, Antique Linen distress inks. The stamp is home-made – I cut up some foam from using butterfly die that came in three different sizes. I then applied the distress inks on top, misted it with enough water, stamped on water color paper. I then dried them with a heat tool before stamping with the other colors. I finally sprinkled some more water to create a nice splotchy effect. Then I sprinkled in some drops of the same three colors.
After I trimmed the paper, I didn’t know what to do! Again coming back to the color inspiration, although not listed, there was some brown in the image – so I decided to go with that. I got some brown paper, covered up the card base with that and stamped JustRite Burlap Background stamp in Frayed Burlap distress ink.
I then tied some hemp cord into a knot around the watercolor piece. I then stamped the sentiment from Altenew Persian Motifs using Memento Cocoa Brown ink on a strip of cardstock, added it under the hemp cord and cut off the extra. I also added a butterfly cut out from another piece of burlap-stamped-brown-paper I had made as an unsuccessful attempt in finishing the same card 😛 I then adhered the panel on top of the card base using foam tape.
And that finished my card! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂
Since my interest in card-making, I have come to add quite a few related boards in Pinterest. One of them being inspirations of patterns and designs. Now, even after creating this board, I found that I rarely made many cards from them. Finding that one of the card makers I follow has an explicit series dedicated for cards made from Pinterest inspiraitons acted as a trigger and I thought that I should maybe try to make a few cards, at least now and then, picking inspirations from that exact same board I reserved for that purpose!
And so, I present one more card from the “Pinspiration” series! 🙂
This card is inspired by this pin –
I picked up a few flower stamps that had a striped design on them. Now, I didn’t have stamps which would substitute the solid flowers, so I made some using the same flowers I chose. I learnt making my own stamps from dies from this video from Yana Smakula. I applied the same technique, except this time the stamps are cut by hand. By the way, the stamps came from Blooms Of Mine and Full Blooms stamp sets from Micia; and one more stamp set, whose name I don’t remember 😦
Before I started stamping, I cut out a heart mask from scrap paper, and stuck it to one side of the card. I then started stamping using Memento inks Dandilion, London Fog, Grey Flannel and Tuxedo Black.
Once I was done stamping, I added a couple of dashed outlines to the heart using sketch pens. I then adhered washi tapes to scrap cardstock and cut out stripes of it and cut out the ends to a fish tail and a diagonal. I then cut out another strip of of cardstock and cut a fishtail to an and, to add the sentiment – from Hero Arts All Occasions Messages. After first stamping it in Tuxedo Black, I stamped it two more times at an offset in Dandelion ink, making a shadow. I then adhered and foam mounted all the stripes on. Finally, I adhered this whole panel to the card base, on which I had already adhered some dark grey color paper.
And that finished my card! Hope you liked looking at it as much as I loved making it! 😀
