#445 – Muse Christmas Version

PE: Winner at Muse Christmas Version!!

Muse Christmas Version - Challenge Winner

This is the first challenge by Muse Christmas Version this year – and I just had to be a part of it! But the muse, Kimberly has showcased such an awesome card, I was stuck just looking at it for a few moments, taking in its beauty!!

Such a divine card! And in every sense of the word too!! Now, when I made my version of it, it turned out to be nowhere as beautiful, but maybe Kimberly wouldn’t mind meeting me halfway! πŸ˜€

I used the Nativity Angel from Artplorations, which I had won from OLCCC with this card. And I started watercoloring. I used the same colors as our awesome muse. I even tried to make some flower patterns on the angel’s dress – don’t know how much I’ve succeeded there..but anyway! Once I lifted the stencil, my angel didn’t look like anything at all! So sad!! But nothing a little gold and glitter couldn’t solve! πŸ˜€ I added a few lines using Ranger Emboss It pen and added gold ep to heat emboss and added some gold and silver glitter using Deco Art Glamour Dust Ultra Fine Glitter Paint.

Finally came the sentiment, from Paper Trey Ink ‘Tis The Season, which I stamped using Paper Trey Ink Classic Kraft ink. I also added a thin frame using my Uniball Signo gold gel pen. Then I mounted the watercolor panel on a kraft card base. And that’s my card! πŸ™‚

Thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚

#357 – Muse Christmas Version

Kimberly has made a cute little Christmas card over at Muse Christmas Version challenge this time. She has made a very CAS card – that kitty is so adorable! πŸ˜€

For my version of the card,

  • I tried to keep the card ‘mostly’ CAS (:P)
  • Followed the layout – keeping the focus on the top left corner and the sentiment below it
  • Kept a cute critter, and some support for the Critter too! πŸ˜€

I first stamped the bird from Neat & Tangled My Heart Sings and colored it using Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens. I also hand-drew and colored the hat for it. I then fussy cut them both. I then took a card stock panel, colored it using Cracked Pistachio distress ink. I applied some embossing paste using Heidi Swapp Confetti and after it dried, I applied some more Cracked Pistachio distress ink through the stencil. I then die-cut the panel using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. I then chose a couple of washi tape for the bird to perch on and put the card together. The sentiment is from Micia Joyful Flutters, which I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I also stamped the two music notes from Neat & Tangled My Heart Sings using Memento Tuxedo Black.

Hope you like the card! πŸ™‚

#351 – Muse Inspired

PE: Muse Christmas Versions Winner!

Hello! I made two cards yesterday inspired by the Muse Challenges –

My first card is inspired by the Muse Christmas Version #26. Birgit has made two cards for double the inspiration and I picked a bit of both cards to make this one! πŸ™‚ The tree’s colors are inspired by Birgit’s first card and the owl by the second. I also used a panel instead of the frame in her second card.

I made this card by first die cutting a panel using Spellbinders A2 Curved Matting Basics and stamped the trees using Simon Says Stamp One With Nature and colored them the same color as the background in Birgit’s first card – blue, green, red and brown – using Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens. I then stamped the owl from Clearly Besotted Woodland Kisses with the addition of a hand-drawn hat, colored it using Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and fuzzy cut it. I then used a scrap piece of card stock to stamp the sentiment using Paper Smooches Alphadot and Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then assembled all the pieces together. I also added a bit of ‘snow’ on the tree tops using Fevicryl 3d outliner and some Fevicryl glitter stickles.

My second card is for the Muse Challenge #319, where Tracey McNeely has provided us a really pretty CAS and flowery inspiration –

And here’s my card – I used the same color scheme, layout, sentiment/occasion and even sequins as my inspiration!

I used Penny Black Gentle Whisper, colored using Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens (and misted, of course) to stamp the flower and leaves on a card panel. The sentiment is from Hero Arts Its Your Day which I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. Love the simple card! πŸ™‚

Thank you so much for stopping by! πŸ™‚

#342 – More Christmas Wishes

PE: Winner at Muse: Christmas Visions (would you believe it!! :D)

Hello! I made some more Christmas cards – or should I say tried making! πŸ˜€

Here’s my first card –

For this card, I used pattern paper from DCWV Christmas & Winter stack for my background. The pattern papers from this stack are really so pretty – just perfect, instant backgrounds for your cards! πŸ™‚

After adhering the background, I cut off a panel for a snowbank, stamped the sentiment from Paper Smooches Swanky Snowdudes using Memento Tuxedo Black. I also stamped a snowman from the same set and colored it using Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens, fuzzy cut it and covered it with glitter using Zig Clean Color Real Brush pen. I then assembled all the pieces together. Easy card!

Submitting this card to both Muse Card Challenge #137 and Muse Card Challenge #24.

Here’s Michele Ferguson’s card from Muse Challenge –

And Chriss Blagrave’s card from Muse Christmas Challenge –

For my second card, I used more pattern paper from the same stack! πŸ˜€

This time, I used kraft card stock, gold heat embossed the sentiment from Hero Arts All Occasion Messages. I also added a lace trimming adorned with pearls over a side. After I assembled the card, I found it a little lacking, so added some gold pearls on the poinsettia and around the card using Viva Decor gold pearl pen. After finding it still lacking, I traced around the poinsettia and the leaves using Uniball Signo gold gel pen. Hmm…loved it now! πŸ˜€

#338 – Christmas Wishes

PE: Tag You’re It Challenge Favorite!

I think I’ve never made a Christmas card before. Never had a reason to! Being a Hindu, I’ve never celebrated Christmas, nor do I have friends who do. So, this is the first time I am making some. And they somehow made me happy! πŸ™‚

I’ve made two cards, for two challenges –

For my first card, after die-cutting a white cardstock panel using Spellbinders A2 Curved Matting Basics, I colored the background with Memento inks – Danube Blue, Bahama Blue, Summer Sky, Grape Jelly and Teal Zeal. I then stamped the snowflakes from Avery Elle Blossoms & Blooms and heat embossed it white. The sentiment is stamped in Memento Nautical Blue using Hero Arts Fanciful Swirl alphabet stamp set. I added clear rhinestones in the center of the snowflakes as embellishment.

Submitting this one to Muse Christmas Challenge 23, where Kimberly has made a fantastic snowflakes card! I picked the blue theme, snowflakes, and the sentiment being in sync with the snowflakes; also added rhinestones instead of sequins.

Now, when I showed this card to my sister, she was like ‘why ‘fluffy?’ – I said its because the snowflakes looked puffy to me. Then she asked ‘then why warm’ – I answered that that’s the feeling I have while and after making the card – warm. She looked at me like ‘Huh? That doesn’t make any sense at all!!’. Ok, so I have to work on my Christmas sentiments! πŸ˜›

Now, going to my second card (where the sentiment is simpler! :D) –

I first die cut the tags using WPlus9 Timeless Tags 2 and stamped the snowman fromΒ Paper Smooches Swanky Snowdudes using Hero Arts Black ink. I didn’t stamp his hat from the image, but instead drew it, so it matches the Santa’s hat in the Tag You’re It Challenge #32. After I was done coloring the snowman using Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens, I cut another piece of tag using the same die and added some red strings to it. I then prepped my kraft card base. I stamped the snowflakes and the sentiment from the same stamp set and heat embossed them in white. I also added a few more snowflakes in Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens. I then added a strip of red polka dot washi tape and added the tag on top. And here’s the muse’s card from the Tag You’re It Challenge #32 –
