#551 – In Purple

PE: Winner at Cupcake Inspirations!!

Cupcake Inspirations - Sweet Six

Hello! I am back with another card. A simple to make, but packing a punch card. πŸ˜‰

Believe in Miracles

I just picked a watercolor panel, colored it with two tones of purple and then a bit of black at the top. Once it was partially dry, I sprinkled a few drops of water, to get small gaps where I could add stars. Once the panel was dry, I stamped the trees (from an alcohol inks kit I brought recently) and the sentiment from JustRite Bokeh Time and embossed it in gold. I also added dots for the stars using embossing pen, which too, I embossed in gold. I then added a second set of trees, behind the gold embossed ones using Black Soot distress ink.

#537 – Coloring One Layered Flowers

PE: Winner at One Layer Simplicity Challenge!!

Hello! I really wanted to try a one layer card, where coloring was the main focus. And here’s what I created –

Happiest Birthday Wishes

I love how this turned out!!! I colored everything using Zig Brush markers – never thought could be this easy!! Seriously! All I did was add color so very vaguely – just like i would add highlights on lines in text book, and then spread the color using a brush – that’s it!!

Happiest Birthday Wishes

Ok, coming back – I’ve mostly used Winnie & Walter products here. I first marked and masked out the center area. I then stamped the images from In Bloom: Lola’s Bouquet, then a borrowed leaf from In Bloom Addie’s Garden, using Antique Linen distress ink, masking the images wherever needed –Β  then colored all the images using Zig brush markers, spreading the color using a normal brush wet with water.

Once done, I added some extra details, adding the lines on the leaves and redefining flowers, using the same markers. I then added the frame using scale and sketch pens – one had even half dried up, but it gave a nice wooden look, so I used it. πŸ™‚ Finally stamped the sentiment from The Big, The Bold and Party stamp set using Hero Arts Cup O’ Joe ink.

I even added a few gold dots on the flowers and leaves and the sentiment – it has left a little sheen, but I couldn’t capture it in the images 😦

I am also submitting this card to the following challenges –

#486 – A Few Cards Over the Weekend (2)

For my first card –

Some Bunny

A very simple one layered card – I used the stencil Mini Flower Frenzy from The Crafter’s Workshop and blended in Scattered Straw, Tattered Rose and Tumbled Glass distress inks. I then added a few water splatteres. Once it dried, I stamped the bunny and the balloon from My Favorite Things Some Bunny in MFT hybrid ink and watercolored it using Walnut Stain distress ink. I then stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

And my second card –

Just Because

For this card I chose flowers from Micia Full Bloom and Blooms of Mine stamp sets. After stamping them using MFT hybrid black ink, I watercolored them using blue distress inks and fuzzy cut them. I then positioned them on a card panel and stamped the leaves in Memento Tuxedo Black. I then foam mounted the panel on the card base before adhering the flowers – I adhered a few directly using glue, while foam mounting a few others.

Just Because

The sentiment, from Neat & Tangled Everyday Labels, is stamped using Hero Arts Field Green ink, trimmed and foam mounted. I used my MISTI here, since I had to stamp it several times, to get a clear print. πŸ™‚ I added a few transparent sequins for embellishment.

#466 – A Couple of CAS Cards

PE: Top 3 at Sovushka Slavia!!

Sovushka Slavia - Top 3

Winner at Happy Little Stampers!!!!

Happy Little Stampers - CAS Winner Badge

Hello!

Today I am presenting a couple of CAS cards.

The first card is a one layer – and if there is a simpler card to make, I wouldn’t know! The only difficult part in this might be the fussy cutting involved while creating the mask! πŸ˜€

Submitting this card to Sovushka Slavia Card Sketch #48, One Layer Simplicity Challenge #26: As You Wish, AAA Card Challenge #62: Anything Goes and Less Is More Challenge @271: One Layer Card with Geometric Shapes or Patterns

To make this one layered card, I first stamped the cat and the ball of yarn along with the sentiment from My Favorite Things I Knead You on my card base using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then colored them using Faber Castell Polychromos color pencils. I then made the masks for them and used the stencil The Crafer’s Workshop Mini Garden Gate to blend in some Pumice Stone distress ink. That’s it, we’re done! πŸ™‚

Celebrate Good Times

I Love Mew

For my second card, I used a technique called stencil mono-printing. I used Prima Magnolias and added some Paper Trey Ink inks on the stencil, misted it with water and pressed it on a card panel to get the the stencil’s mono-print. Once this was dry, I trimmed the sides and used the sentiment die from Paper Trey Ink Good Times to die cut and trimmed the excess from the sides. I added another piece of the same die cut from white card stock, adhered it using some cellophane tape and foam mounted it on the card base. I then stamped the sentiment from Paper Trey Ink Good Times using Memento Tuxedo black ink. I thought of adding a few sequins, but stopped it, since I did want to make it CAS! πŸ˜€

ColourQ Courtier!!

ColourQ - Honorable Mention

Hello! After quite some time, I am back to critter coloring! So much fun! πŸ˜€

Both my cards featured today carry the totally adorable bunnies from My Favorite Things Some Bunny stamp set. And here’s the first –

Hoppy Easter

I can’t believe myself that I’ve made such a CAS card!! πŸ˜€ I first stamped the bunnies using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then colored them using Peeled Paint + Pine Needles, Bundled Sage + Mowed Lawn, Crushed Olive distress inks and PaperΒ Trey Ink Simply Chartreuse ink. I then drew some squiggly lines below the bunnies and stamped the sentiment, form Mama Elephant Honey Bunny in both Memento Tuxedo Black and Paper Trey Ink Simply Chartreuse inks.

My second card is actually what I had made weeks ago! I gave this to my sister, and totally forgot about publishing it, until I made another card using the same stamp set! πŸ˜›

Bunny Chain

For this card, I first stamped the bunnies using Hero Arts Black ink, then colored the bunnies using Tattered Rose, Spun Sugar and their dresses using Cracked Pistachio, Blue Lagoon, Crushed Olive inks. I stamped the background using starts and hearts from Mama Elephant Bear Hugs using the same inks, and, after fuzzy cutting the bunnies, I adhered them using foam dots.

#432 – Hello Friend

Hello! Its nice to take a little break from my constant coloring practices now-a-days. Here’s a card I made by using only stamping –

Hello Friend

I used WPlus9 Backgrounds and Borders 1, and Memento Dandelion, Hero Arts Soft Pool and Hero Arts Soft Cantaloupe, Memento Tangelo inks. The sentiment is from Hero Arts All Occasion Messages stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I added a bit of silver glitter, for just a dash of sparkle. πŸ™‚

#411 -Friends Like You

PE: Winner at The Challenge!!! (Yay!!)

The Challenge - Challenge Winner

One Layer Simplicity Challenge Winner!! (double yay!)

One Layer Simplicity Challenge - Winner

Hello!

Fine day for coloring! πŸ™‚ I stamped this pretty flower from Ellen Hutson Bohemian Garden in Hero Arts Black ink, repeatedly, and using masking. I wanted to do some water-coloring on it, hence the Hero Arts ink instead of my usual Momento Tuxedo. I used Fabriano Aquarelle watercolor paper – fantastic thing, even though I did really light coloring – I could feel it! πŸ™‚

Friends

I used distress inks for coloring, choosing inks for a softer palette. I went with Tumbled Glass, Spun Sugar and Mustard Seed (very light coloring with this) for the flowers and Crushed Olive and Mowed Lawn for the leaves (again, very light coloring). For the background of the flowers, I initially went with a light mixture of Pumice Stone and Brushed Corduroy, but thinking that there was no contrast at all, I re-colored it with black.

The sentiment is from Paper Trey Ink Wet Paint 3, which I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black (yes, I just had to use that ink! :P) Finally added a dashed line around the card using Uniball Signo black gel pen.
